Forum Guidelines
This message board has a very low level of moderation and very few rules.
The Refugee Forum Staff seeks to maintain this message board with as few restrictions as possible while still maintaining the safety and personal concerns of our members, as well as preventing any sort of illegal conduct.
However, having a low level of moderation should not be mistaken with having a right to be extremely offensive, attacking, disrespectful, or making physical, personal, or professional threats towards a member or stalking another member. Certain types of personal information is prohibited, such as posting addresses and telephone numbers, photographs, and real names of members and non members alike who are not involved in the case discussion. Posting your own personal information is discouraged and is inviting future trouble.
We ask that everyone be respectful of the fact that the Refugee Staff does have some responsibilities here concerning any extremely abusive conduct of our members towards other members at some point disagreements can cross the line and enter into fuzzy legal and/or improper territory. That point can be hard to define at times, but we ask that you respect the decisions we make in our attempts to prevent greater problems. If you have a problem with our decisions it is far better to contact us privately or state your case once or twice than to try everyone's patience with repetition. Repetition will not earn respect or credibility.
For the most part, this has not been an issue here. Most of the Refugee members have been very warm towards one another, but as with any online community, we have had a few episodes. We hope these problems will be few and far between. The Refugee Forum Staff does not like to edit a member's post, nor do we like to ban anyone. However, both can and will be done if the necessity arises. We will do our best not to interfere in squabbles, but there is a limit to what can be allowed, and this limit is meant to be beneficial to all of us!
One thing is certain, the Refugee Staff, as moderators everywhere else, are humans who will act with some inescapable personal biases. We will sometimes make decisions that you may not agree with, but we ask that you trust that our intentions are to benefit the whole Refugee community.
The Refugee Forum Staff asks that you do not make posts on this message board that contain content that you are not willing to take personal responsibility for.

*No trolling-type abuse allowed, targeting and shadowing members for the sole purpose of insulting them.
