They just did it cause they could & they wanted to, not because they were raised to do it or believe that it was okay to do it. They could have invested the money in something that really showcased some type of cultural heritage if they were so damn proud. They did not. They chose to kill dogs to make money.
That's my opinion.

Oh My opinion also, but doesn't mean dog fighting has been going on 1000s of years.
Its not the hood who invented it. Its been a long time event in some regions
For me its no different than the people who get off on the rodeo, horse racing they are all disgusting and should be illegal.

UNbelievable.
Care to share a link where the loser in a horse race was slammed on the floor, face down, over and over, till death? How about electrocuted? Or hung? Because they didn't perform properly...win the race?
I'm a pretty strong animal advocate, hate abuse of all kinds, but boy I sure haven't heard any stories like that, maybe I missed them.
I guess the comparisons can begin now......

Excuse me Miss savannah but pumping steroids in horses is wrong and they have been putting them down if they don't perform , maybe you should research more.
I have put a link about the abuse of rodeo animals , but nobody responded maybe we have to wait until a good football guy decides to to jump on a poor baby calf.

I agree that there are people who abuse animals in so-called legitimate animal sports as well. They are despicable.
Michael Vick and his friends are despicable for what they chose to do.

I don't think most football players involved with steroids would share them with baby calves. JMO

What does that have to do with grown men throwing themselves on baby calves? Unless they have the ball It's a different kind of sport which I find sick.

Yes they are, and guess what I don't even like football. but they should be judged as themselves . Race has nothing to do with it.

The football player/steroid comment triggered that response in my head.
I meant to say share them with horses in going along with what you had written.
What can I say..........one poor analogy deserves another?

I don't know anything about Football....it's too cold and too much padding for my taste. I think that Michael Vick and his friends chose a cruel, inhumane and disgusting enterprise to invest their money. I really don't care what he does for a living.

The topic is what it is. I have replied to the OP without feeling I need to have changed it.

The topic is what it was ,but with every disscussion it can lead to discovery or just collateral damage .
I know I can't change the OP but I sure as hell know I don't have to sit back and take it.

A lot of cultures have sports that lead to the ultimate death of animals that are bred to kill or defend themselves. In my opinion, none of it is right.
Dogfighting, cockfighting, bullfighting, etc. (as I know there are more that I am even not aware of) are a disgraceful disregard of some human's value of another species worth.
Race has nothing to do with it. I am so sick of celebrities trying to play the race card on anything that happens. There are so many mixes of so many races that soon this will not be an issue. I, for one, can't wait until these mixes proliferate throughout the population, and we are all one basic color.

I sure agree with you, Kat. I will never understand why a person's color is at all important to who that person is as a human being. I do think that color-coding is more prevalent in America than Europe, not that prejudice does not exist here but color does not seem important to many people.
