Dutch attorney, Leon van den Eeden for Joran van der Sloot, answers reporters questions at the court in Arnhem, east central Netherlands, Thursday Nov. 22, 2007. A Dutch judge on Thursday approved the transfer to Aruba of a student suspected in the 2005 disappearance of American teenager Natalee Holloway on the Caribbean resort island, a prosecutor said. Joran van der Sloot, 20, was arrested Wednesday in the central city of Arnhem on suspicion of involvement in voluntary manslaughter and causing serious bodily harm that resulted in Holloway's death. Death? Has the media changed it to a death now? Is this new?

Just a few days ago the prosecution stated they wished they had more time but would abide by the courts Dec 31st deadline.
IMO, it is time for the prosecution to either shit or get off the pot. If they have evidence that J2K were involved in a crime against Natalee...bring charges and take it to court. If they don't, then quit with the grasping at straws. |
It sounds to me IF it is true jughead and twat will be arriving in scary Aruba where iguanas wait for tourists so they can defacate on their heads, an argument has been made to Dutch authroities that Joran and maybe Deepak stated they had sex w/ Natalee in that first run in with the posse. I don't believe the boys said any such thing EVEN IF they did have sex and the posse always blew things way out of proportion b/c they want revenge.
If one were to accept Joran was using his fingers on Natalee then they must accept his statement she gave him a blow job. She could not have done that passed out. So one act cancels the other. Much ado about nothing.

Holloway suspect flown to Aruba
The Hague - Joran van der Sloot, the main suspect in the case of missing American student Natalee Holloway, is to be flown to the Caribbean island of Aruba today - the scene of Ms Holloway's disappearance. Mr Van der Sloot was detained at his home in the Netherlands on Wednesday because of new evidence in the case. Two Surinamese brothers who were friends of Mr Van der Sloot have also been arrested on Aruba, which has an autonomous status within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that the new evidence comes from recently monitored telephone calls between the three suspects, the last people known to have seen Natalee Holloway before she went missing two-and-a-half years ago. Her disappearance has received major media coverage in the United States, amid angry accusations that the Aruban authorities have not been doing enough to solve the case.

Thanks MF for all your information.
Geez this is like going back to day 1.
So it will be telling, IMO anyway, that if they go before a judge yet not immediately charged it would mean there's not substantial evidence just more of the same that there's a suspicion that they need to investigate further. And it could go either way as far as charging or releasing them.

Hans Mos, Aruba's chief public prosecutor, said only that the evidence is "so important that we think we should have arrested these three guys, which we did yesterday."
Sounds like this guy thinks he has the stuff he needs to have j2k brought to trial. Wonder why KJ never did?

Where in the US prosecution gets limited time to lock someone up without charges the prosecution in the Netherlands gets a lot more, there is one catch though, there is judicial oversight at set points during the detention. So, the judge is not there in the capacity of a trial judge, deciding about guilty or not guilty, but to check wether the prosecution stays withing the limits of reasonablity, fairness and the law. |
thank you for the info.
My understand of a "trial" as all 10 posted is different than this. I also understand that in Aruba there is no jury but just a judge. Another reason why I asked the question.
Safe one!

Why don't you keep yourself busy and go back to 2005 and dig up everything that was said when J2K were originally arrested and see what was said then as well?

if joran has been speaking to k2 recently about this case they all deserve the dumber than 2 sticks award
eta: and if true no wonder anita thinks its just to reconstruct something, bc joran would be way to embarrassed to tell his mom or dad he was that foolish.
Not saying that there is a legitimate incriminating comment, just blown away that they would even talk about that night recently

Will the Kalpoes go before a Curacao Judge today or do they get a "local" Judge..if there is one on the island?
If it's the former....Can't the OM put up the Curacao Judge at the HI overnight sp he would be there tomorrow for Jorans hearing?
Doesn't the OM have Govt. planes available to fly Judges/Officials in for such things?

I am skeptical of any reports about monitored telephoned calls between these three guys. I am not buying it.

That's the problem.
In the context of everything he / they have said, it reads like: on the review of the entire case file, we discovered a wealth of information that as a whole "is so important that we think we should have arrested [past tense] these three guys, which [we have now done] did"
But the curve ball is the 3 month old "technology evidence" wire taps.
Which added in, suggests on final review [say last week], these taps + everything else in the case file, add up to why we made this arrest now.
And there's the real problem. How minuscule is all of this, that even at the time of the wire taps, it didn't "click". What was said in the case file and what was caught in the taps.
That' just doesn't take 3 months to notice, even if you start re-reading the 40K page file from the start. In other words it obviously doesn't stick out like a sore thumb, whatever it is.
Sounds more like some teeny tiny nonsense thing, that just gives them an opening to detain and give one last effort to question them. Which they obviously have been desperately struggling to find / do all this time.
Hardly case solving material

I think it is the new team in charge that does not know Paul and just cares about the truth. Van Der Stratten is a friend of Paul and has been
quoted as saying how can I do this to my friends son. The Aruban pm had the right idea when he wanted him off this case!

Thanks! Now can we see the plane that was believed to have transported Joran, and the road they were said to have taken from the airport to town?
