PM's

There seems to be a problem with PM's and there is a discussion in HE. I replied to a PM earlier and went back to check my outbox and it wasn't there. I checked my sent box and it wasn't there. I immediately went to that thread and posted the problem. It was 6:52 am. I went back to outbox and again, it wasn't there. I typed a quick reply to the PM again and sent it. Went to outbox and both were there. Shocked I deleted one and the original PM had 6:40 am as the time. Where was it for 14 minutes? Confused

It was in your outbox. The reason you didn't see it is because to save data transfer charges your ISP is using a caching server.

I personially have the same problem with my ISP, so I am all to familiar with the symptoms. Often doing Ctrl and the F5 key will allow a clean reload.

Hope this helps.

thanks kay..hell i didnt know that was it when it happens to me lol

essentially bham what she means is that because they dont want to be charged for transferring data, your ISP uses a different method that slows down where it is for a little. It looks like its in a black hole but its actually sitting in your ISP's cache as it progresses from where you sent it (the pm box as you hit submit) to the out box, then it gets moved to your sent box.

I think. Confused

To address the rumors and crap that are apparently flowing out on another issue, yes Joy is still an admin here. She has r/l stuff going on so she is not out in front much but she is fully aware of what goes on and we discuss issues. We did not "change servers" to lock her out she actually is the one with superadmin priveleges and its why she handles the graphics etc. even i cant do that. Sometimes we actually get sick and tired of the daily crap on this board, and need to step back to deal with life or just decide to keep out of the front lines, it does not mean that because you don't see her she is not here.

Which "nic" are you going to use next to ask the same question Bin#29, Topsider or Jack Rabbit??? Mad

Why are all my PMs now showing as being "unread?" Why did I just get a popup for a PM when there are NONE there unread nor any in my box that were UNREAD?
