All I can say is that the FLDS have a better PR campaign than the state of Texas.
I need more than some sugar sweet YouTube movies to be convinced.
In fact this type of propaganda makes me quite sick.

For people that supposedly want nothing to do with the outside world, they sure know how to put together a campaign for their lifestyle.
I did not watch the whole thing, however I did notice that the man crawling on his knees never showed his face!

I feel exactly the same about the ANTI-FLDS put out there by disgruntled former members.
Oh and I wonder why there are so many more present members than former members, women, that is?
Oh yeh I forgot, they are bullied and intimidated and "poor poor pitful me" types who just can't get away.......

The children do look happy and beautiful in the Youtube (and the good, soothing, sweet music helps)--BUT this lifestyle is not self-sustaining. If one man has three wives, then two young men must be sent away. If one man has five wives than four young men must be sent away. That seems crazy to me.

Again, Im not convinced that was happening in this group. If we look at the numbers of children taken, at first glance it appeared there were a disproportionate number of teen girls to teen boys. But, once it came to light that many of the "teen girls" were not teen girls at all, the numbers became proportionate for male and females.

Do these people produce three times as many girls as they do boys? If not, they have to banish the extra boys or it will not work out mathematically.

Perhaps some of the boys go to other sects. Perhaps some of the women change husbands from time to time.

Other polygamous sects? The numbers still won't work.
Women changing husbands? Then that leaves a wife vacancy for the husband who lost one. Any way I look at it, this practice is not self-sustaining.

What is the purpose of all of this PR anyway? The only opinions that should concern the FLDS should be their own. The only people they need to prove anything to is CPS. If they're on the up and up as they claim, there should be no problem. CPS isn't going to be swayed by videos.
FLDS doesn't want anything to do with the outside world - the sudden need to broadcast videos of their children all over makes no sense.

They are trying for the same thing that helped them in 1953 - trying to get the public's sympathy so the state will back off. They just have better techniques at their disposal now.
They want to live in compounds and thumb their nose at the rest of the world until their ideals are questioned. Then they want to present themselves as one big happy family to get the state to back off. They are con artists living using religion as a cover, IMO...

I agree. And they must want to stay in Texas for some reason. They have purchased land and started a huge new compound there - but it's being watched.

The older brother of the 12 yr. old girl Jeffs married, Dan Jessop and his wife had this experience when they were married:

"Doe said she learned from her stepfather, Fred Jessop, she was to be married, an assignment her sister Rebecca Musser said Jessop had pushed.
Her shock at the news deepened, Doe said, when she learned she was to be married to a cousin she described as a name-calling bully.
Her pleas to stop or put off the marriage were ignored by Jessop, her mother and Jeffs, she said. Doe acquiesced in the end because she considered the union a revelation passed by God to Rulon Jeffs, the aging president and prophet of the FLDS church.
Rebecca Musser, Doe’s older sister, said she was 19 when she became a plural wife of Rulon T. Jeffs in 1995; Rulon Jeffs, then leader of the FLDS church, was 83.
Musser said Rulon Jeffs was incapacitated by a stroke in 1997 and, by the time of her sister’s wedding, Warren was making decisions for his father.
The wedding took place in a motel in Caliente, Nev., with Warren Jeffs officiating, Doe said, adding that she wept for hours before and was all but speechless during the ceremony.
Weeping again on the stand, Doe said, “This was the darkest time of my entire life, one of the most painful things I’ve ever been through.”"
Where's all the happy teens? Pregnant or breast feeding? Cooking for their man? Funny how all the pictures are of the pre-teens. If they only knew what some of them were in for once they reach puberty for the girls, and adulthood for the boys.
