The parents of Neil did not stand up when the jury walked in.
They gave a little press conference outside the courthouse after the verdict.
She said Rachel murdered their granddaughter and they said their grandaughter will rest in peace.
That their son is innocent.
That he did not get a fair trial.
They knew that Rachel was depressed.

Funny how California takes months to impose a sentence on a criminal, and other states do it the next day, or in a few days.

As far as Mass being civilized, I'll take Texas' way of dealing with child killers any day.

From what I understand, Neil was convicted in the first degree.
That means life without parole.
So there's no need to do a pre sentencing report.

The family might speak in court tomorrow, and then the judge will sentence him.

Justice for the victims!!!!
Rose

See ya Neil. To Mrs Entwistle I would say, your opportunity to express your unqualified opinion your daughter in law was depressed was during the defense case. Pity you didn't take the stand to explain 'the truth'. As far as an appeal based on the police breaking in to Rachel and Neil's home twice..best of luck. Rachel's credit cards were paying for that home per evidence already on the record. Rachel lay dead upstairs. The police did you a favour Entwistles. Had they not entered and discovered your family members when they did, their remains would have been in such a condition nobody could have said goodbye. Why didn't you people say goodbye properly anyway??

Enjoy the rest of your life!

Actually Marco I think she said Lillian would never rest in peace because her son was innocent blah blah blah. I'll check CNN.

Why is the appeal based on illegal entry if they have ACTUAL EVIDENCE TO EXONERATE oops sorry for yelling the double murdering Neil?

I'm trying to find a link.
I know there's one with Neil's parents talking.

It was so disrespectful to their own daughter in law, their grandchild, Rachel's parents and the jury.

ETA:
Entwistle's parents also spoke out, telling reporters that Rachel Entwistle "murdered" their granddaughter.

"We know that our son, Neil, is innocent, and we are devastated to learn that the evidence points to Rachel murdering our grandchild and then committing suicide," his mother, Yvonne Entwistle, said. "I knew Rachel was depressed. Our son will now go to jail for loving, honoring, and protecting his wife's memory."

Entwistle's father, Clifford, added: "From the moment that Joe Flaherty said, and I quote, 'All we need now is the right jury pool,' we knew Neil would not receive a fair trial. We will continue to fight for our innocent son with the hope that one day justice will prevail, and our little granddaughter Lilly may rest in peace."

The Death Penalty has it's place in civilized society. Civilized society would not spend a cent on keeping someone alive who will never see the light of day (outside a prison). Of course that's just my opinion, which I am entitled to (I think).

I like Texas, "if you kill someone there, they will kill you back". Now that seems fair.

Other than the murders, I think the most disgusting thing Neil did was to blame the victim. Sick. Rachel graduated HS with a cousin of mine, so I guess this particular case sickens me even more.

No one has ever suggested that Texas is civilized so that's a non sequiter.

Texas doesn't believe in coddling killers. That is a hell of a lot better than California, where the prisoners on death row have more rights than their victims.
