Alabama Police Find Car, Searching for Baby Sitter, Child

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Police have recovered the 1997 maroon Ford Crown Victoria apparently driven by 16-year-old Antoinetta Smith, but a search continues for her and a 1-year-old toddler she was baby-sitting.

Police said the vehicle belonging to the child's mother was found Friday night in Birmingham's Central Park neighborhood.

A search continues for Smith and 1-year-old Treshon M. Williams.

An Amber Alert was issued earlier Friday for Smith and the child.

The two were last seen Thursday at approximately 10 p.m.

Police identified the child as a relative of the baby sitter. Detective Warren Cotton says all police know is she took the child without permission.

Police urged anyone with information on their whereabouts to call the police Family Services Unit at (205) 254-0800.

Missing Child Found, Baby Sitter Arrested

A one-year-old little boy was found overnight in Bessemer, and the baby sitter who apparently took him is in police custody.

Treshon Williams was found late Saturday night. Williams was taken to Children's Hospital, where officials say he is ok. The baby sitter, 16-year-old Antoinetta Smith, was arrested shortly thereafter.

Smith apparently took Williams from his home Thursday night while she was baby sitting him. An Amber Alert was issued on Friday afternoon. Smith apparently took a 1997 Ford Crown Victoria belonging to Williams' mother, which was found on Saturday.

There's no word if Smith has been officially charged with anything.
