K-Fed Awarded Sole Custody

Britney Spears has handed over sole custody to ex-husband Kevin Federline, according to Federline's lawyer.
Attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan told E! News that the couple have finally reached a settlement in the drawn-out custody battle - one in which K-Fed gets sole legal and physical custody of the couple's sons.
"The court still has to approve it," Kaplan said in regards to the settlement.
Kevin Federline has been awarded full custody of his two sons with ex-wife, Britney Spears, according to his lawyer.
Spears, 26, will still have visitation rights to see Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, reports People magazine. Currently, she sees the boys twice a week as well as a weekly overnight stay that is monitored.
Kaplan has been mum on the final and exact terms of the deal, but told E! that his client wasn't "out to get" sole custody. "Kevin's goal was to set up some kind of template so the mother of his children can co-parent," he said. But Federline is "absolutely delighted" by the final outcome.
Spears temporarily lost visitation rights in January, after refusing to hand over her sons after a visit and then being rushed to the hospital and checked into a mental health facility. Her father still remains the legal conservator over her financial affairs.

wow - I guess he must have received a huge settlement! I have felt so sorry for those two adorable little boys for a really long time. The photo that sticks in my mind is of her driving at night with flashing cameras surrounding her and those two little angels sitting in car seats in the back looking scared to death and holding hands. I hope and pray that they will be able to enjoy a quality life.

Madonna is such the role model. However, she has re-invented herself many times - trouble is, which, if any, of the incarnations of Madonna is the favorite? I personally am not a fan, but my daughter is. Therefore, there were many, many videos of Madonna's various tours running at our home for years. Gotta say, though, I do give her mucho credit for the amount of work she does to keep in such extraordinary shape. That takes such discipline. Maybe discipline is what she can impart to Spears.

Britney & Kevin's Custody Settlement Finalized
Britney Spears and Kevin Federline's custody settlement was signed Friday by a judge, officially ending their nearly two-year custody battle.
In the deal reached last week, Federline retained sole custody of Preston, 2 1/2, and Jayden, 1 1/2. Spears – who is currently allowed two visits and one overnight per week – will get an additional sleepover by year's end, barring any setbacks.
"She's thrilled," the pop star's attorney Laura Wasser told PEOPLE. "To have more time with her kids has been her motivation to get well. In light of her outstanding conservatorship, she couldn't have asked for anything more."
Spears also agreed to increase Federline's child support to $20,000 a month (a $5,000 increase) and pay off his $250,000 legal tab. Documents show the child support increase went into effect on July 15, and that Spears's father, who remains in legal control of her affairs until a July 31 hearing, approved of the settlement terms.
"This has been a long ordeal [for Kevin] and for it to be over makes him very happy," his lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan previously said.
Legal experts say the former couple will undoubtedly return to court in the future, since custody settlements can always be modified.
