NFL Season

Heading to week three, Cowboys look phenomenal on offense. Patriots undefeated and will make playoffs. Chargers 0-2 but still strong. Broncos Cutler settling in to have great season. Packers improved without Favre. Raiders could make playoffs. Jet's okay now but Favre will burn out. Lions, Chiefs and Dolphins suck. Steelers looking good. Bills slightly better but should do mid-season fade. Colts O-line is beleagured and defense still suspect. Favorite team right now - Carolina Panthers. Giants number one in my power rankings this week.

Disclaimer: all my opinions, including power rankings, have credibility rating of zero.

I agree with you assessment of the Bills. Their schedule gets a lot harder after the bye (week 6).

But right now they are undefeated, so enjoy! It'll be interesting to see how the Patriots hold up. The Jets are gonna regret throwing all in with Favre, imo.

You better Bill-ieve I'm enjoying it at the moment! But I'm also realistic. Given the state of the AFC East, however, who knows what might happen. It wasn't the loss of Brady (on the field, anyway) that cost the Pats against the Fish. The Dolphins were flat-out better prepared to play. Maybe Brady could have provided some leadership on the sidelines but he would not have been credited with a single tackle of Ronnie Brown, even if he hadn't been hurt. And I was the happiest fan of all when the Jets signed Brett Favre. I love Favre but there's no way on God's green earth that he is going to be the answer to that franchise's problems. They don't have the O-line to give Favre the protection he needs and their defense is a real liability.

I still think that the 3 best teams in the NFL right now are all in the NFC East. I just hope they are all peaking too soon.

Yeah, your right. I hope the Bills can hold on to make playoffs. They should keep picking up some good wins. I'm impressed with them so far.

They are looking good Karamel. How about the Titans, 7-0. And how about the Bengals, man they suck.

I'm still loving the Carolina Panthers.

Still place Giants numero uno.

Titans are worst 10-0 team ever, imo.

Lions are most consistent team, lol.

Dolphins, Bucs and Jets have good shots for playoffs.

What's happening?

Last week of regular season. Many teams still have a shot at the playoffs. Two great matchups this weekend, winner take all: Broncos at Chargers and Dolphins at Jets. Plus, other games are huge for one team. The dust will settle Sunday. Let's see who makes the playoffs.

What a day. Eagles make playoffs (they needed the Raiders to beat the Bucs, and a loss by Vikes or Bears and a home win -- it all happened). Dolphins complete greatest turnaround ever (they were 1-15 last year) and make it. Patriots win at Buffalo but still stay home. Chargers crush Denver to get in. Vikings squeak in on last second 50 yard field goal.

In the playoffs:

AFC:
Dolphins
Chargers
Steelers
Ravens
Titans
Colts

NFC:
Giants
Eagles
Vikings
Panthers
Falcons

My pick for the Super Bowl is The Chargers vs. The Giants

I would LOVE to see Miami there and Indy is also playing very well right now.

Whoever plays mistake-free football and has solid defensive outings will be the likely ones.

Okay, good picks! The Chargers are my bold pick for this weekend, but as you say it's a tough call. Let's look at weekend matchups and make some picks there too.

Weekend wild card picks.

Ravens at Dolphins
Ravens. Dolphins are favorites with exciting offense and storybook season. I'm going with Ravens smash mouth defense to wreak havoc.

Colts at Chargers
Chargers. Toughest call. Indy has MVP Manning and six game winning streak. I like home field advantage and underrated Phil Rivers.

Eagles at Vikings
Eagles. They're inconsistent, but if they play like they played last week they'll move on.

Falcons at Cardinals
Falcons. For the victory dogs.
