I believe Beth is responsible for Joran's actions to a very great extent.

As to Joran and Patrick, if you take twenty some hours of tape and edit it down to a few minutes, you can get your subject to say just about anything you want people to hear.

I think Joran thought he could trust Patrick. I believe he told Patrick what he thought would get him what he wanted from Patrick.

I believe Joran doesn't have a clue as to what happened to Natalee, so I can't see how anything he does hurts anyone other than his family and himself.

Everyone is responsible for their own actions. How they choose to deal with consequences is the key.

Joran:
Quote:
How did I know she would be a rich American, and the media would be all over it.

Why does this shit always happen to me?

When the boys realized what was happening, they could have come clean immediately; Joran didn't...he kept on with stories.

The people on here posting that claim they are lawyers come up with the most brainless thoughts. Shocked

the bonaire case has taken an interesting turn

the have arrested the guy. they don't have the girl. a guy in holland with the same last name with a criminal record got a call asking for ransom and his own daughter was the subject of a subsequent kidnap attempt presenting the possibility the girls was kidnapped by mistake. the local cops did not cover themselves with glory. the security guards who witnessed the abduction did not chase the guy. they called the cops who were not responsive. the head cop does not believe in the kidnap for ransom theory. in this case the abduction was witnessed. of course there was a witnessed abduction the night natalee disappeared too.

Suspect disappearance case interrogated

27 Sep, 2008, 09:32 (GMT -04:00)

KRALENDIJK -- The team of investigation has started with the interrogation of the 24-year old Rayan P., who’s being suspected of involvement in the disappearance of the Dutch Marlies van der Kouwen

The examining judge has placed the suspect into custody on Friday. P. was arrested on Thursday. Four houses were searched, of which three are where the suspect supposedly stays and one where a scooter was found. “The police confiscated several things and also the scooter, which is being investigated for tracks”, says Chief of Police John Schagen.

Two other searches were conducted on Friday, and in addition to that, search operations with three tracker dogs in the course of the afternoon yesterday. They did this in the area where Marlies disappeared in the night of Saturday to Sunday. One of the tracker dogs is from the police corps in Curacao and the other two are from the Dutch Corps National Police Services. The search operation continues today.

“The investigation-team and the Public Prosecutor received dozens of tips in the past few days, including some very usable, which are being investigated. It doesn’t matter what the tip is, each single one is welcome. People that think that they have information that may have to do with the case, are incited to report this to the detective service via telephone number 717-8555, or 911, which is in operation 24 hours a day”, says Schagen.

the bonaire case is looking real bad

two kidnappings, one half million ransom request. similar names of two girls, one 17, who worked next door to the bar the missing one left from. the father of the one who was not kidnapped got a ransom request on her. he told them they got the wrong one. they then tried to grab his younger daughter, 8, of her bike, but she escaped. the guy who tried to grab the little girl is under arrest as is a suspect in the other case. and kidnappings don't happen in the Dutch Antilles! the father of the two girls may have a criminal background.

more bonaire

they actually have had

two kidnappings and one ransom request for a half million euros.

the younger girl, 8, in the second kidnapping managed to escape. she too was pulled off a bike. her abductor is under arrest. her older sister, Jaimylee van Kouwen, 17, worked in a restaurant next to the bar, Karel's where the missing one left from on her bike. their father, Wout van Kouwen got a ransom request phone call for his older daughter (the abductee was not his daughter). names are similar. the cops say cases are unrelated. i don't think so.

names:

Marlies van der Kouwe, 24, intern from Holland, pulled from her bike after leaving Karel's and carried off on a motor scooter, still missing. Suspect arrested. He had kidnapped raped and held a woman before. Got out of jail three months ago.

Bo van Kouwen, 8, was pulled from her bike, escaped. Living on island.

Jaimylee van Kouwen, 17 older sister of Bo, subject of ransom request. Living on island.

Wout van Kouwen, father of the two, got a ransom request for a half million euro. he was a crown witness who was moved to Bonaire for his safety after the guys he testified against got wind of his betrayal in a drug investigation. he himself is characterized as a (former) drug dealer. he dinies it was the yugoslav mafia that grabbed his kid off her bike.

A & E - What Happened to Natalee Holloway?

Bill Kurtis hosts this documentary special that looks at the case that shocked the nation--the disappearance of 18-year-old Natalee Holloway on the island of Aruba on May 30, 2005. Natalee was last seen alive leaving a bar with three young local men, who became the prime suspects. Natalee's mother, Beth, is convinced that the men know what happened to her daughter, but authorities have been unable to come up with definitive proof that they are responsible for her death. Kurtis examines the key questions in the case: Will Natalee's body ever be found? Why can't authorities solve the case? And where did the investigation go wrong?
