Mine do seem long, too... and so many recurring. Maybe you and I should write a book based on our dreams. We probably have some doozies! Laughing

It is fascinating how some of the long drawn out ones actually only last seconds or minutes. That's alwats amazed me!

Count me in on the book. I have dreams that I remember vividly from 25 years ago and Istillhave them. Last Sunday I awoke in a full blown panic atttack Shocked Freaked my husband out, lol. I hate the dreams that you try to wake yourself up from, but keep slipping back into it and it keeps going on and on. I've often said I could write a short film of some of them.

That's amazing that you guys remember your dreams so vividly...I can never remember any of my dreams except for one that happened almost 12 years ago and still remember to this day.

My older sister passed away from leukemia and about a month after she passed away I had a dream that my entire family was in a backyard sitting at a very long table having a picnic.

I looked up and saw my sister hovering over, she wasn't in her body, all I could see was her face. She was about to leave and I called her to wait and come back and she said I can't, I'm happy here. And that was the end of the dream.

Wow, that just gave me goosebumps. What a blessing for you to have some sort of confirmation that she is happy.

Pro,
I have to tell you of a dream I had that has been recurring. I lost my grandma, who pretty much raised me, when I was 11. She died while on vacation in California, so I never really accepted her death.

One day, when I was 21 years old, I had this dream:

It was Christmas Morning. My grandma was still alive. I went downstairs, just as I always had as a child when she was alive, to the smell of canadian bacon, eggs, bacon, and French Toast. The smell was so vivid and it seemed so really that I didn't think I was dreaming. After breakfast, we went to church with my Grandpa and came home to open gifts.

My grandma pulled me aside and told me how happy she was and how proud of my sister and I she was, that we had turned out well. I cried. I hugged her and that hug felt also so incredibally real. I remember her arms around me in that dream and I remember getting to talk to her and had so much more to tell her but she just walked away and faded in to wherever she was going.

I woke up that morning with the biggest smile on my face and at long last, closure after 10 years of denial that she was gone. I also knew that she would always be with me when I really need her..and she is. I have that dream whenever I really really need her....which is not often and it's been years since I had it...but I was able to finally be at peace.

I truly believe she came to me that night. It gives me hope for afterlife and helped me accept faith in God.

Speaking of dreams I had a vivid one last night too. Apparently, my husband and I were separated in the dream. In the dream we were sitting in a living room, and I asked if he was sleeping with anyone. He said "yes". I said who? He said "Joyce". I said "Who is Joyce". He said "I met her when I was working at Joan's house". I became annoyed, and said "then why are you in my bed"! Yet, we weren't in bed. Joan was a good customer of his, and it was the last job he had completed. Maybe I should call her, and ask if she knows a Joyce!

What the hell was that all about? I would have much preferred having a hot sex dream with him! I miss having sex with him so much. He brought me to such heights of pleasure I may never have again in my lifetime. Several nights ago, I was reflecting on just that. Then I have this stupid dream.

Either I believe the dream to be insight on a possible truth, or it's his way of pushing me to intimately move on. I do not dream much these days. I think it is because of the sleeping pill that I usually take. I hadn't taken it last night. Ironically, the last dream I had several weeks ago, also centered around sex. Though that one was with him being around the house, and some guy that I was supposedly fooling around with called on the telephone?

I think I may stop taking my sleeping pill, and see if I can figure more of these dreams out. I would also very much like to have a vivid dream of my husband coming to tell me goodbye like I did of my Dad.

When my father died, I had a vivid dream that he was looking back atop his boat's fly bridge and waving goodbye. Another weird thing happened while I was awake one night shortly after my daughter was born. I heard foot steps on the hardwood floors coming into my daughter's room next to mine. The next day, I asked who had gone into her room last night, and all said that they hadn't. I truly believe that was my Dad coming to take a look at his grandchild.

Dreams are really weird! Anyone have premonition type dreams? I have twice...first time before my mother died, and last one was a week exactly before my husband died. I hope to never have another one of those again.

A very good looking man decided it was time to find the perfect woman to marry her and they can have the most beautiful children.
With that in mind he went looking for that perfect woman.

It didn't take very long before he found a farmer with three beautiful daughters. All three of them made him catch his breath........they were so beautiful.
He told the farmer of his plans and asked permission to marry one of his daughters.
The farmer said: "All three of them are ready to get married, so you are at the right place. Why don't you take each one of them out on a date, and then you can decide which one you want to marry.

The man took the first daughter out on a date.
The next day the farmer asked what he thought of his first daughter.
"Well" said the man, " she only is veeeery little, not that you can see it though.......but her toes are a little crooked."

The farmer understood and suggested to take an other daughter out on a date. So the man left with the second daughter.
The next day the farmer asked again what he thought of his daughter.
"Well" answered the man, she only is veeeeery little, not that you can see it though..........but she's a little cross eyed".

The farmer understood and suggested to take the third daughter out on a date to see if she was the true one. So that's what happened.
The next morning the man rushed to the farmer and told him full of excitement:
"She's perfect, totally perfect, she's the one I want to marry!"
They got married that same day.

Months later the baby was born.
When the man entered the nursery in the hospital he could not believe his eyes: the baby was so ugly, pathetic ugly looking baby he's ever see.
He rushed to his father in law and asked him how can it be possible that with two beautiful parents have such an ugly child.
"Well" explained the farmer, she was a veeeery little bit, not that you could see it though..............pregnant when you met her".

Thanksgiving...

I am braving it and cooking solo for the first time this year! Alecia’s Thanksgiving= Turkey, homemade dressing, mashed potatoes, roasted sweet potato cakes w/ marshmallows, giblet gravy, green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, deviled eggs, and hot buttery rolls. Her desserts= pumpkin pie, chocolate pie, cherry cheesecake, and chocolate chip cookies.

Wish me luck!

What is everyone else doing for this Turkey Day?

Sounds great OG, good luck!

Is the turkey still in the freezer?
If it is you need to put it in the fridge right now, otherwise you will have to put a frozen turkey in the oven.

Or are you going to cook a fresh turkey?

I will be cooking on friday, all the kids have other places to go to on thursday.
On the menu:

scrimp, different cheeses and crackers.

turkey with stuffing and gravy
cranberry sauce
sweet potatoes
mashed potatoes
medley of veggies, corn carrots and sweet peas
green bean casserole
salad
french hard rolls.

pumpkin pie, dutch apple pie, cheesecake and eclairs.

I just found this thread. Wow, my mouth is watering already reading everyone's Thanksgiving Day menus. Very Happy I love the idea of the "stuffin' muffins". Does anyone else have turnips on Thanksgiving, too? My menu is pretty much the same as everyone else's, plus mashed turnips.

What kind of apples do you use, and what else do you put in there?

I'll make that also, I forgot there is a waldorf salad.
Yummy.

Granny Smith apples are good for Waldorf Salad, but sometimes I use a combination of apples - pippin, gala, or any crisp, tart apple is good. I now use died cranberries instead of raisins. Waldorf Salad is perfect with Thanksgiving dinner.

I've tried using yogurt, but mayo (not the non-fat) works best. Lemon juice keeps the applies from turning brown, and I always add chopped celery.

I have never made Waldorf salad. I know my Grandfather does. I might make a quick change to the menu! My kids have never tried it. Thanks for the reminder, Sid and Noor!

Everyone makes Waldorf Salad just a little differently, but I've never had one I didn't like! One of these recipes uses salt & pepper and I have never used either in this salad.
