Thank you for the information ......I wasn't thinking that it had been published with his name in it...I was just wondering how Guido would have knew he was mentioned in it pre-publication.

eta: ..also why Joran did not agree to change Guido's name without the need for an attorney and ruling being involved. ...Sounds like that friendship was a case casualty too.

Once it was known that Joran was going to cover the "case" in depth in the book it would be safe to assume that Guido would get a part. Spong may have tracked down a transcript.

Very safe to assume. It is also possible Spong just asked the publisher.
And told the publisher early on that he wanted to prevent Guido's name would be in the book.

Bummer. I would have like to have seen some Guido/Marco PVs. I don't think we know why he was questioned during the first week.

But if there had to be a ruling on the matter then it would safe to assume that the publisher resisted the request?

Yes. But the publisher lost the case.

To be clear, the publisher refused to leave the name out.

I agree with hemchi - I would like to read the actual PV's from Guido.

Sorry I was hitting Slickster's crack pipe. Are you saying Guido's name was not included purposely? How convenient. All it takes is one or two of these maneuvers and the case becomes unsolvable.

Guido's lawyer took the publisher (I believe) to court to keep Guido's name out of the book. It was all behind closed doors and the results sealed - thus the average person would not really know about this. the ruling was that Guido would be named Marco in the book, and that is what happened.

Didn't the Kalpoe atty reveal some kind of relationship between Guido and Joran in court?
I did read that on Scrux.

I think that would still be an unconfirmed rumor.

Hmmm. So it's possible that Paulus changed his name to Joran. Joran changed his name to Beth. Beth changed her name to Julia and Deepak changed his name to Satish. And this case hasn't solved yet? Imagine that.

All it takes is one more back room deal and someone who shall remain nameless had enough time to buy a mop, paper towels, some bleach and $25 in diesel fuel and we're still stuck here three plus years later with our thumbs up our back sides. Shakes Fist

ps. I like the name Marco a little better anyway.

I had wondered why Anita wasn't upset by all that Diary of Joran's on FOB1. Pretty sneaky move. Very Happy
Not only did the Diary portions show Guido's real name; they also showed other indescrepancies between the book and the Dairy.

Thanks K_Meine.
Cuz you know......in all reality,
if I was hitting a crack pipe, I surely wouldn't be posting on this board.
I would be looking for that last little kernel of crack that may of fallen on the floor while loading my pipe.
It would take days to find out that there really wasn't ever a last little kernel.
In which I'd be spending the rest of my time going out to buy more CRACK!
Not that I know that, I was never a cracker!
Maybe Mt. Brook would understand that?
I never could.
Exactly
Slick

Now back to topic,

Yeah, THEY ROCK!

This deserves a BUMP. There was a huge investigation with the diary excerpts if I remember correctly. Laughing Fit 1

It is said that sometimes a situation can reach "a point of no return". When a fabrication, a lie or story has been told so many times and for so long that turning back now seems impossible. I wonder if Joran and any of his assistants (yes, I am) ever think about it that way and could anyone ever convince him/them otherwise?

I wonder about that from those in the United States.
Specifically Alabama.

FYI...

"It has been said" is code for... I am going to make this up, but make it sound like others did in order to give it some credance- made famous by "FIXED" (Fox) News. Laughing

If there was a plan, I never could figure out what that "plan," was - to me it was just chaos!

Yes it was chaos. Not a wonder JR went into hiding after the embarressment. I surmise the plan was to post Joran diaries with Guido's real name. It doesn't make sense tho, as it wasn't difficult to figure who Marco was.
What made it worse, is that JR had known about those very diaries for a year. And he thought he was helping, lol.
