Police searching for car and handbag Marlies
KRALENDIJK (Bonaire) - The police of Bonaire last few days looking for a black car that may have an important role in the disappearance of Marlies van der Kouwe.
Also, the assistance sought by the public about a missing bag of Marlies. The apothekersassistente cycled with a handbag to go home, but this is after the called KidNap not found. In the bag were probably her purse and mobile phone. According to friends of Marlies is the phone that night after her departure never turned on. The information about the car being taken seriously. The search has always wondered how Marlies involuntarily on a scooter must be transported.
The police have received information that there was the kidnapping of half person. Furthermore, when a female relative of the prime suspect Rayan Pieters the whole circumstances are known.
The kidnapping of the Dutch, now a half weeks ago, now begins its toll flown to the parents. Witnesses saw her mother crying intense leave the hotel. They were painful enough housed in the same hotel as where the main suspect worked. Also within the research team of more than sixty investigators are tensions.
Between the investigators from the Netherlands, Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire growing differences of opinion about the approach. When the Dutch police is mainly frustration on the approach and the lack of professionalism, as is clear from their angry calls in the local catering industry. They appeared in recent days is not aware of how small the community is in Bonaire. In Bonaire, the research also hampered by the many family relationships.
To prevent sensitive information through the police to the family and possible suspects out, not all investigators briefed on the progress of the investigation. That approach puts necessary, however, the relationship between the Antilles and Dutch researchers focused on. The Dutch contribution and leadership on the island are sensitive.

Friend: Ryan came home muddy
By PETER DE KNEGT
BONAIRE - The girlfriend of Ryan P. By the police stated that Ryan P. in the night Marlies van der Kouw was kidnapped 'under the mud and overset "came home.
The spot on Bonaire where Marlies van der Kouw disappeared.
According to Ryans' lawyer Marga Domingo reading this Ryan denying the force. Ryans mother also rejected the story 'of that friend which is not bad. "
Ryan voted against Domingo said that he hopes "that the case be resolved quickly."
On Bonaire begins to feel that the police have the wrong man to deal with the day to grow. The first few days after his arrest loot Elden rumors and accusations to his address overlapping in the local media and on the streets, many of the rumors now appear to be invalidated, save the doubt again.
Ryan P. is in "all restrictions stated in the cell in Rincon. He may no contact with the outside world. Even his mother has still not spoken to him. 'The police has asked whether I want to see him, but they must fetch me, because they have my car confiscated for investigation,''said Maria Virginia Pietersz.
Domingo visit her client daily. ,, I find him a good client in the handling.''Although Domingo assumes that Ryan released Friday, they keep in mind that the bankruptcy judge him eight days may hold because of the seriousness of the case and shocked Bonairiaanse right feeling in the society. At this moment in Curaçao secured DNA traces examined. Domingo:,, that usually lasts very long on Bonaire, but they might make in this serious matter what speed.''
Domingo also defends the man who last week tried the 8-year-old daughter of the well-known in the Netherlands Wout of Kouwen on Bonaire to abduct.
Despite the almost identical surnames (Marlies Van der Kouw, Van Kouwen), the fact that he is a blond 17-year-old daughter live on the island has a losgeldeis for the Marlies kidnapped by Wout of Kouwen came in by phone and the fact that Van Kouwen a large well-known in the underworld, Domingo believes that the attempted abduction by her other client related to a possible mistaken identity.
`A man who wanted to abduct girl of eight is not mentally capable, for example, to demand ransom.''The search for Marlies goes unabated in the coming days.

Rayan Pieters wanted to wash his clothes directly that night
by John van den Heuvel and Bert Huisjes
KRALENDIJK (Bonaire) - Police and Justice on Bonaire rapidly gathering evidence that the prime suspect Rayan Pieters involved in the disappearance of the Dutch Marlies van der Kouw.
It has rechercheteam clothes seized from the suspect in the homes of his 16-year-old girlfriend Shanti. She said that her friend in the night of the called KidNap "muddy" came home. He was also very upset.
They said earlier that he is a part of the evening and night not to her. The 16-year-old girlfriend has further stated that the suspect on Sunday "immediately wanted to wash the clothes." Forensic investigators yesterday immediately secured these clothes. They hope that perhaps traces can be found.
Also, the car of his cousin Rayen, a dark blue Toyota Starlet, for research welcomed. This is examined for forensic traces of the Dutch apothekersassistente. The police are looking for all-day trip to a black or dark car.
The police also gathered statements by colleagues of the accused, who are also working at the Plaza Hotel. Also, the resulting picture shows that after the disappearance Rayan an extremely tense and confused impression made. So he would during the day on several occasions have run on it.
In the 16-year-old girlfriend search is performed, as with the niece, Rayan mother and his uncle and aunt. The mother of Pieters has been firmly behind her son approval. Her son would have been sick of the medication he swallowed. A jerry can with gasoline that he testify Monday - "totally upset" - purchased, according to its intended for her car.
The police yesterday the niece of Rayan Pieters heard, and her home searched. This Rayen Trinidat rode during the arrest with Rayan in the car of the 16-year-old girlfriend. Furthermore, the car of the mother, a red pick-uptruck subject to investigation. According to her he is innocent of these called KidNap, but also the earlier sexual crimes for which he appealed convicted. The girlfriend of her son called it "crazy". According to her was her son precisely nothing to note. The lawyer Rayan Pieters said yesterday that he is convinced that the main suspect is released tomorrow.
For Case
Justice will ask to extend his detention, given the progress in the investigation. On the small island was again yesterday at various places to Marlies van der Kouw searched but without result.
DUTCH/
Rayan Pieters wilde kleren direct wassen

latest from Bonairereporter.com
The tranquility of Bonaire was exploded by three unrelated serious crimes in the past two weeks.
The story concerning most people was the abduction of 24-year-old Marlies Elizabeth van der Kouwe who was pulled her off her bicycle at 2:30 am Sunday morning , September 27.She has not been seen since. Her parents who live in the Netherlands are currently on Bonaire. Marlis was working as a pharmacist’s assistant at Botica Bonaire on Kaya Grandi. A photo is on the right. Her description: 1.63 meters tall, blue eyes, blond hair.
The police are holding a suspect who had been recently released from prison in Curaçao where he had been incarcerated for rape. The detention has not led to the discovery of the missing girl. Exhaustive land, sea and air searches by police, Park rangers and volunteers over the past two weeks have been fruitless. About 50 policemen from Bonaire, Holland and the neighboring islands remain working on the case
If you have any information please call Reggie Huggins or Sra. Sharine Martina at 717-8015. Cellphone: 788-3983.
The second incident involved the attempted kidnapping of an eight-year old girl from a local supermarket. She was recovered a short while later unharmed. Her captor, who is known to be mentally defective, was apprehended.
The third involved the rape of a high school girl. Six teenage boys were involved. Details are sketchy in consideration of the ages of those involved.

Door PETER DE KNEGT Algemeen Dagblad http://www.ad.nl/binnenland/2670862/Justitie_Bonaire_ontkent_blunders.html
The main suspect in the kidnapcase of Marlies van der Kouwe, shouldn’t be already released now.
Justice blunderded in 2002 with their charge in a case of rape, by forgetting to demand the judge to put on a conditional retribution for Ryan P. in a real prisoning, That’s what his 2002 rapevictim is saying.
The involved d.a., Ernst Wesselius, denies the blunder and says that he surely considered the conditional retribution in his charge. In appeal Ryan was centenced for eight years of prison. About nine months ago he was released.
“ If Ryan was still in prison, Marlies wasn’t kidnapped, disappeared en killed”, says the victim, who is convinces of Ryan’s guilt. The woman was raped by Ryan in 2001, So judged the court in February 2002. He was just released three months earlier from another case of crime. For that crime he was sentenced for 2 years, with eleven months imprisonment and a two year probationary period. That probation ended in November 2002.
Ernst Wesselius:” I indeed considered Ryan’s conditional sentence. I treated thousands cases in mu 30 year career, but this case is even still in my dreams every day. It touches me deeply. I very clearly put higher charges considering the seriousness of the facts, the circumstances, the suspect, the greeve he caused and his probation.”
Accourding to him you can’t tell if Ryan still was prisoned if he asked ro put his conditional sentence in imprisonment, because you never can be sure how a judge judges. Besides, prisoners can also earn bonuspoints for earlier release. What that woman states is a false security.
Ryan P’s attorney, Aldebert Rooijer, puts that the District Arrorney often forget to let a conditional sentence be executed. “But it is not our job to point their failure”.

Again an arrest on Bonaire.
By John van den Heuvel en Bert Huisjes
Kralendijk (Bonaire) Police has arrested Friday a second suspect in the case of the disappearance of the 24-year-old Marlies van der Kouwe. This was told by sources around the investigation team.
An arresting team on Bonaire arrested a man in the neighbourhood of Niki Boko on the island. It is the 19 year old Siegmar Marchena mostly known under his nickname “Kucho” on Bonaire.
The team went into the house of the family of the man. When he was arrested the family of the suspect offered resistance.
The house was immediately sealed for forensic research. The flown-in tracker-dogs were also used at that location, as witnesses stated. End of the week extra police-personnel and a special arrest-team were flown in.
The second suspect is a friend of Ryan P. (Rayan P.) They lived together in the same house. The search goes on for a black car, that supposedly played an important role in the kidnapping of Marlies van der Kouwe.
Siegmar is seen by the police as a possible accomplice for the making disappear of the body of Marlies van der Kouwe. They suppose she is not alive anymore.
It is three weeks ago that the pharmacist-assistance disappeared mysteriously on the island. She was tugged from her bike, nearly in front of her apartment. The custody of the provisional main suspect was prolonged Thursday with another eight days.
Up to now Rayan Pieters, who was convicted for hostage-taking and rape before, has only committed he knew Marlies. He was also in her vicinity on the evening of her disappearance, and according to him “something” had happened between them.
The investigation on Bonaire is made much more difficult because of the tight family-ties on the island. Just since this week it is possible to mention tips anonymously by telephone on Bonaire.
On the island searches have been done this week on several sites. The investigation was hampered because of heavy rainfall. This wiped away all tracks in the loose soil.
“The soil changes here in mud after heavy rainfall, and later in a concrete plate” says a source around the investigation. “When her body hasn’t been washed free, it will be very difficult to find her.”
