The girl is a pharmaceutical student doing an internship on Bonaire and her father is a general practioner doctor in the Netherlands. Apparently there was a witness who saw the man grab her onto his motor bike.

No intern. She moved to Bonaire to work at a "Botica".

The Police made an arrest tonight.

Is she alive? Can you post an article about the arrest, Knipoog?

What is a Botica?

Why would the cops do nothing for 24 hours when they have an eye witness to the kidnapping who called "911"?

according to the dutch papers

they have arrested the owner of the motorcycle. a guy with the same last name got a call requesting ransom money. he is a guy who is known and has a criminal record. the bonaire girl is not his daughter. there was a kidnapping attempt against his daughter too. the bonaire police chief does not think this is a ransom abduction. the arrestee was in jail for raping and holding someone else for two weeks. he was released recently to the horror of his previous victim. no sign of the girl. search continues. new chief has started an inquiry into the sloppy first response by his subordinates.

They didn't make the connection between the 2 things.

I thought they were on 2 separate days, no?

Young woman is seen being pulled off her bike screaming help! help!.... Security guards sees it happen but can't get to her fast enough to help, so he calls "911" for help. Somehow nothing was done.

The next day, an eight year old child was kidnapped, but managed to get away.

Even if they didn't make a connection until later, I am not understanding why they didn't immediately respond to the SGs call for help.

Don't they have 2 different suspects arrested at this time?

PS.... How do we get a separate thread for this case?

The 24 yr old is missing over a week now. I think this should be a topic on it's own.

I think that's a great idea even though I said I would never, ever post on another case. Embarassed This one has me interested.

How do we get it to be a topic of it's own? Does a moderator have to do that?

Johan, can you make this picture smaller because it blows out the margins, thanks.

Pictures with a width of about 480/490, are reasonably doing good on threads...

there is still no news

on her. a belgian paper says the cops are pursuing the possible relationship between the ransom request and the kidnapping. i.e. mistaken identity. that raises hopes. otherwise the rapist needs to tell them what he did with her. he kept the last one for a week.

That is so sad that they were so close but couldn't get to her in time. Sad
