News radio this morning: a lot is going on on Bonaire.
Full speed digging at -some part of- the beach. Marlies not yet found.

advanced bodycase -sent by NFI- arrived.

This Just in from Bonaire.
a Sad Exclusive news from friend in Bonaire.
Friday Night arounf 21:00 hours, Kralendijk confirms the news that the head that was found on a peace of terrain belongs to Marlies van der Kouwe. This is a semi closed case, becuase they still have to confirm the person or persons responsable for this case. They also found her bank card, 1 of her slippers. This saturday, the Dutch Forensic Investigators will continue their investigation and with this trying to find th rest of the girls body

Police search continues for Marlies
KRALENDIJK - The police in Bonaire has Friday (local time) a piece of land at the island hermetically sealed because the investigation into the missing Dutch Marlies van der Kouw. That the police reported.
Saturday morning the area will be examined by two employees of the Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI). These have now been flown to Bonaire.
On the radio was reported that a body is found. The police spokesman denies this, however. The area where searching lies with the district Amboina.

The special transport crate seem destined for the team that investigates disappearance of Marlies, is unloaded from a KLM aircraft.

The investigation team that investigates the disappearance, yesterday called a transport crate seem to Bonaire from the Netherlands about flying. The carefully packed in cardboard coffin arrived last night by KLM flight KL753 at the airport of Kralendijk.
The Dutch Forensic Institute (NFI) confirmed yesterday the coffin to Bonaire to have sent. The KLM-shielded transport on the island yesterday caused a huge flood of rumors, because it'll come out of the box could indicate material that remains of Marlies have been found.
Marlies van der Kouw, which ran on Bonaire internship at a pharmacy store, disappeared without trace in the night of Saturday, September 20.
Witnesses saw that around half past one at night by an unknown man was pulled from her bicycle and then was carried on a scooter. The next day, the cycling of the girl and her brown slippers found in the bushes.
The research team strongly denied yesterday that the body of Marlies or remnants of them have already been found. Last Thursday was also the ruling of Rayan Pieters extended, but the main suspect has made no confession. The searches to Marlies van der Kouw still go through.
According to a spokesperson of the Dutch Forensic Institute is transporting a precautionary measure. It is a special coffin, representing an Vacuum body through the skies can be transported. The parents of Marlies, who already weeks in Bonaire residents, were yesterday informed.

Main Suspect Pieters Rayan made the day before yesterday in his bringing up before the court commissioner raised an impression. He was told that he was still up to sixty days in pre-trial detention should continue. Upon entering the courthouse Pieters stuck his middle finger on.
The police team considers the possibility that he Marlies van der Kouw something has served as the most real scenario. Yet other possibilities also still held against the light.
Tomorrow in our newspaper with an exclusive report the latest news about the disappearance of Marlies.

This is from Bonaire Talk. Some articles are saying her head was found seperate from her head. I shudder to think what this poor girl must have gone through before dying.
The Police of Bonaire has found the body of the missing 24yr Marlies van der Kouwe. She was found in some dense vegetation close to the Ambuana area. Forensic experts are currently inspecting the site.
The kidnapped farmacy employee disappeared 4 weeks ago, when she was pulled of her bike close to her apartment. Her body was found in a shallow grave, approximately 5kms from the place where she disappeared.
Marlies was found by a search-squad with sticks and trained dogs. Some bodyparts came clear because of the rains. Close to her body a flipflop and her bankcards were found. Her family was just informed.
The journalists of this newspaper yesterday saw police driving around with the main suspect’s (Pieters) cousine. It seemed as though she was giving the police directions in the Ambuana area. At that site clearly a grave was visible, just meters aside the road between to mudpools.
According to sources with the police, Pieters did not release a confession. Yesterday evening a start was made to obtain all of Marlies’ body.
R.Pieters was flown to Curacao prison with a military airplane in a hurry. In a couple of hours the police will issue an official statement.

ryan hassled her that night at the bar.
opinion: somebody should have accompanied her home.
the cops should have responded to the call from the security guards who in turn should have intervened themselves.

You must have missed me, with some comment, as I was posting regularly before.
Sorry, I was off-island for 5 days, and just arrived back this morning.
I didn't post me being off-island before leaving, because I don't want to bring potential thiefs on an idea.
Yesterday I heard the sad news. Believe me, nearly all the local people on Bonaire are very sad about what happened, the happenings are very actual in the news at the moment.
Some more details, for a better understanding perhaps:
The cousin of the first suspect has lead the police to the place where Marlies was burried. They found her "in pieces" burried undeep in a piece of ground at Amboina, a neighbourhood. Together with her debit-cards and flip-flops. Partially the parts were washed free, by the heavy rainfall. The parts are 100% sure identified as being Marlies. On the radio we heard this afternoon, a sixth suspect was arrested with initials K.E.M. Suspects nrs 4 and 5 were released earlier.
Police also stated that on the surveillance-cameras at "Karel's Beach Bar" where marlies was partying before her disappearance, suspect nr. 1, "Ryan" was trying to pick up Marlies in an extremely "macho"-way, and it was visible that Marlies didn't want to go in upon his advances.
It is known that young local Antillians sometimes get very angry if their advances are not honoured by the potential beloved woman.
Ryan is also known (according to his (now ex-)girlfriend) to become very agressive and sexual active when having drunk some whisky's. He had actually taken a lot of Johnny Walker Black-labels that evening. Ryan was in discussion with the father of his ex-girlfriend at Karel's, when he suddenly disappeared without saying a word, that was shortly after Marlies left. Two women have seen Marlies biking home, followed by a scooter, and other witnesses have seen a guy on a scooter with a body in front of him, going uphill.
The two persons, released from jail, one of them is his older brother, who has obviously nothing to do with this. The second released person is the (step-)father of Shanti, the ex-girlfriend of Ryan.
Another person (19 year olf friend of Ryan) still kept in prison, is supposed to have cleaned the car in which she was brought to the place where she was burried.
At this moment Ryan is moved to the prison in Curacao (Bon Futuro), to prevent the different suspects can have contact with each other.
I think the Police did finally a good job in finding her, and arresting several suspects, but the real proof of the responsability of these guys for what has happened is still not completely ready.
There is also the story of the late response on the calls of the guards of the powerplant. An investigation on that is still underway. Because of lack of action of some police-people, the search for the disappearance just started over 36 hours after her disappearance. When forensic investigation finds out that Marlies was not killed immediately, this could also have heavy consequences.
A commemoration-assembly for Marlies will be held this week on Bonaire.

Breaking news!
Just on the radio, minutes ago.
Forensic research on the body of Marlies in the Netherlands couldn’t prove any involvement of Ryan P. with the death of Marlies. He is probably innocent. Main suspect is now Kenneth E.M., who was arrested yesterday. Police expects more persons to be arrested soon. They also said Marlies wasn’t killed at or near the place where she was kidnapped, and also not at the place where (most parts of her) were buried. They are searching in several houses where they think she was kept in capture, and/or has been killed.
These new circumstances give again some light to the idea that she was kidnapped while the kidnappers thought she was the daughter of Wout van Kouwen, the well-known “criminal” and informant of Justice, that lives temporary on the island. Criminals from a Yugoslavian gang in Holland do have to pick a bone with him. The 17-year-old daughter of van Kouwen worked at Karel’s Beach Bar, and is also blonde. Which means Marlies was kidnapped by accident. Ryan P. knew Marlies, as he also has confessed, and as was shown on the surveillance-cameras of Karel’s Beach Bar, so he could not have made that mistake.
The place where Marlies was buried is now a kind of memorial, where locals bring flowers.
Yesterday evening a religious service was held in the catholic church in Playa, to memorize Marlies. This service was organised (I am not sure) by the owners of the Botika (Pharmacy) where Marlies worked. The parents of Marlies were expected there too, but the people (psychologists) that take care of them seem to have advised to not go there. Not much publicity was given to this service, we heard of it, when he service was almost over, otherwise we would have gone there. Some 100 people attended the service. I don’t think this was the remembrance service that is planned for this week.

I thought in the beginning that there could have been a mix up with the girls when I heard about that ransom call.
But it still is weird that Ryan's cousin could point out to LE the exact place where they found Marlies's body....Plus he was seen on those security cameras macho-ing up to Marlies when she left Karel's. And they saw a black scooter following her, he was suddenly gone at 1.10 from Karel's also, etc. etc.

even with ryan's agressive antics. he may have been in on it. many warning signals. many missed opportunities. how do you abduct someone on a motor scooter without help?

Kick her unconsious and place her in front of him. There was a witness who saw a guy on a scooter with a girl laying in front of him..I don't know. From what I have read she could still have been alive if the LE had reacted immediately when the guys from the energy plant called....

Ryan Pieters has admitted he played a role in the murder of Marlies to the LE.
They had a reconstruction yesterday and he led them to different houses supposedly from other suspects. His lawyer said that she couldn't comment before the police gave a press conference...There are new developments in the case.
