This guy has been rung thru the wringer for 3 1/2 yrs and yet nothing sticks.
How about those Mountain Brook, Alabama BRATS, that hold their fingers to their mouth while mouthing the Shhhhhhush, word?
Meanwhile pointing fingers and wringing a teenager/Joran Van der Sloot, thru world wide news all the while Beth is describing her childs personal grooming habits and adding to it that she was drugged, gang raped, murdered, etc....etc....... for 3 1/2 yrs?
The only thing that WILL STICK in the end, is Mountain Brook, Alabama has ALOT to hide.

And, the Mountain Brook, Alabama lies, is on the internet forever!!!!!

I believe the officials in the investigation before I do anonymous posters on forums.

They say Natalee is dead and Joran van der Sloot is the main suspect.

Until I see something to indicate otherwise, that is what I believe.

onrechtmatig: unlawful, illegal, wrongful, unjust.

If the OM had arrested people without serious reasons is it unlawful, illegal, wrongful, unjust.

And that's the reason the OM went to higher court to fight the sentence.

Very Happy

If the OM arrests on grounds that later turn out not to be grounds the OM did not act unlawful. --> no florins.

If the OM makes mistakes, people can claim money.

This is a rule to protect citizens against unlawful arrests.

Otherwise everybody could be arrested just because the police is not working properly or making mistakes.

So if someone is arrested and locked-up, there have to be serious reasons. If not, people can claim money.

Paulus could not, because the OM went to higher court. wave

Two Witness Statements against PvdS were the reason PvdS was arrested. The OM had reasonable suspicion based on these statements to make the arrest, but it later turned out the the Witness Statements were FALSE. And as we've learned from this case, it is not illegal to lie to the police as a witness.... Wink

Paul van der Sloot: That was not told to me when I was apprehended. During the apprehension I was told that I was suspected of complicity to murder manslaughter and usurpatory freedom spoliation (kidnapping). During the session with the judge , it was told that the suspicion originated, because that Monday night, when so many people were standing there in front of the door, I allegedly declared that at four o'clock, I picked up Joran. And someone else, allegedly declared that I picked up Joran and Natalee, while my own declaration was, directed at police officers, that I picked up Joran at eleven o'clock at the McDonald's. That is, of course remarkable that the public prosecutor's office adds two witness statements of people who were standing somewhere in the back, and not the witness declaration from the police officers, where I direct myself to, and directed myself to, as much as possible.

..and the higher court said his apprehention turned out to be without gronds, but not unlawful, hence no florins. Pauls arrest was no mistake, the grounds just evaporated under further scrutiny, which is shitty if that happens to you, but no florins.

Billybob,

Can you explain why the OM went to Higher Court?

Because the OM knows the law and knew that even though the original suspicions that he was arrested on turned out in the end not to be true, the police even though they wound up being incorrect, didn't act unlawfully at the time based on what they believed, so it wasn't illegal so Paulus didn't deserve any money??

Which he didn't...Paulus didn't deserve money.

Mariaine Croes - the official OM spokesperson - said Paulus's story as a witness did not supprt other facts in the case, besides the contradicting statements, as to why Paulus was arrested.

Let me get this straight. Someone misunderstood because Dutch is hard and Americans are stoopid and they thought Paulus said four when he said eleven.

Based on that alone, Paulus was arrested for suspicion of not just murder but PREMEDITATED murder, kidnapping, depriving personal liberty resulting in death, etc.

I find that VERY difficult to believe. It makes no sense at all. In fact, I don't believe it for one moment. More of that rain effect.

Meaning is one and only statement that he picked him up at 11 pm as the investigation continued, some 3 weeks later, after the fact of his original statement, suddenly it does not check out when a new witness statement appears claiming he said 4 am. This after the mother pretended to be handing out prayer cards and sweated her way onto their stoep for 90 minutes. After which she muttered in her incomprehensible English he's lying Greta he never said 11 pm, we gonna round up the Alahlahbama posse and get Juggs uncle to swear out our witnesses statements saying so. And what do you know, stench fest meeting takes place on 21st June, Paulus arrested 23rd June.
