Big-news, Guido, Spong, new witness etc.
Just IMO, but I think the news (whatever it might be) might be linked to the arrest of Guido W.
Even though he was released, he never was a witness that night, being a tennisfriend of Joran still does not make him a witness that had to be questioned several times other then how did Joran behave the next day etc.
If something is going on now in Aruba, if someone is arrested or if there are developments I think maybe someone (a witness) talked about someone that might have a connection to Guido, since Guido has been questioned several times the past year, unnoticed, and no Spong involved.
I still believe that Spong suddenly involved means something, he is not someone that is hired if there is no huge reason to go to him.
If anyone talked, a new witness (I don't buy the condom-story) might be considered credible and might have info about a person other then Joran being involved one way or the other. This person who might have been arrested or not might be someone Guido knows, and also the reason why Guido suddenly had to be questioned for 6 days, and suddenly is no longer considered a witness but a suspect (why? he was not in the company of Joran and Kalpoes that night).
Spong said his client was arrested because hotel empolyees suddenly remembered Guido had acted strangely, I don't believe that, if Guido had behaved strange I don't think these employees came with that info a year later. Spong also suddenly came up with Guido's sexual preference, that in itself it odd for a lawyer to do, Guido was not with Joran that night, but maybe (since he left his job early) he was seen at some point in company of someone else; someone that the new witness (if so) has made a statement about. That could be the reason for Spong to mention Guido's sexual preference. I think that Spong, due to any new developments (if so, and if true) cannot open up since in that case there would be an ongoing investigation about someone other then Joran.
Since it has been mentioned that Guido suddenly is a suspect, while he was not at C&C that night, not with Joran and Kalpoes, and has no interest in woman, there must be another reason for him having suddenly become a suspect, I don't see how that be anything other then him knowing or seen in company with that night that is the subject of the investigation now.
MF hinted that a new arrest (if so) could be the consequence of the news he cannot reveil; I think by saying that it is kind of obvious that someone talked, and gave a statement; an arrest could be a logical consequence of anyone giving a statement. The big news IMO cannot be anything of Natalee found; since if so the family would have been notified the past week.
Since Joran is still in Holland, and no news about Kalpoes being arrested (Kalpoe lawyer was on tv a few days ago if I am correct) I assume someone else at this point is investigated, and Guido can be linked to him, and because of that (and if the statement is considered credible, and even a new arrest made) that could have been the reason for Guido to hire a top lawyer like Spong.

In a country that size its not hard its like a small town. If you ever want a source and info again (as media) then you better cooperate. If you dont want to be ticketed for every driving infraction or have any technicality legal issue investigated then you better cooperate. And if given some good reason, it makes more sense to do so

JoeT commented about some inconsistencies which would include bribing of witnesses. IMO, he meant Beth/Jug. I could be wrong.
School is probably out now for FEB and the other collegians. Maybe she'll have a differet perspective on remaining quiet or lying to protect Beth.

Which leads me to recall knowing earlier in this case the fact that Jossy was reportedly having joran followed. If this is true, the fact that a witness nsaw what he reported is possible. Bur then how to explain who that person is. Hence the part of the stoory that is fabricated is that about who was doing the witnessing. It was not an illegal but a PI working for Jossy?
