CNN reports that she was abducted outside of her apartment (apparently she lives in an apartment downtown). The video of the kidnapping appeared to be in a parking lot. The Alabama Bar website lists her office address as 300 Richard Arrington Blvd., which is basically where the kidnapping occurred.

That should be fairly easy to spot - probably not a whole lot of silver lexis driving around. |
Now they say its a one not an I on the plate. |
Yes, the first charater is a 1, not an I. The number 1 indicates that the vehicle is registered in Jefferson County.
And, Diva is right; lots of silver Lexis' in and around B'ham.

I hope he at least has enough compassion to let her go home to her child.
We had a murder a couple of towns from me over the weekend. A man stabbed his wife 18 times in front of their 2 small kids. The kids had their mothers blood on them. She died.

Lawyer kidnapped in Birmingham; tag number released
A Birmingham lawyer was kidnapped at gunpoint outside her downtown loft this morning.
Detectives have frantically been scouring the city for Sandra Eubank Gregory, 34.
Gregory, the divorced mother of a young daughter, was abducted at gunpoint at 8:32 a.m. at Second Avenue North and Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard.
Witnesses told police a gunman forced her into her boyfriend’s silver-green 2000 Lexus RX 300 and made her drive off. Police identified the license plate as 1C4852G.
Gregory was wearing a red tank top, black capris pants and silver hoop earrings. The man suspected of abducting her is wearing a short-sleeved, striped shirt with white, black and gray, dark pants and sunglasses.
Police said that since Gregory’s abduction there has been activity on her account at three AmSouth banks -- Fairfield, Ensley and Adamsville.
Gregory’s boyfriend, also a lawyer, told police about 11 a.m. he talked with her by cell phone, according to police radio communications. Gregory told him she was OK, detectives said over the police radio, but said she got agitated and quickly hung up, apparently out of fear.
Her law partner, Marcus A. Jones, said office workers last saw Gregory at work on Tuesday. She was leaving today for a domestic law seminar in Sandestin called “Divorce on the Beach.”
“I knew she was going to be a little bit later today,” Jones said. “But at 8:45 a.m. or 9 a.m., when she wasn’t here, someone from the office called her.”
Moments later, he said, Birmingham homicide detectives showed up at Jones’ law firm and told them of the abduction. Gregory’s former husband was also notified and dispatched to pick up their daughter at daycare.
Jones said he believes the kidnapping was captured on surveillance video from a nearby business.
Gregory, a 1998 graduate of Cumberland Law School, joined Jones’ general practice firm two years ago, he said. She specializes in family law. He described her as friendly, perky and a great mother.
“She’s dedicated to her child and her work,” Jones said.
“Obviously right now we’ve shut down this office today while we’re trying to deal with this,” he said. “We’ve got our hopes and our prayers.”
Attorney Joey Morgan III said the abduction has rocked the city’s legal circles.
“It’s scary,” Morgan said. “She’s a sweetheart. Doesn’t have any enemies. Everybody that I know both at the courts and personally think the world of her.”
Jefferson County domestic relations Judge Gary Pate said everyone holds Gregory in high regard. “She is a real bright spot,” Pate said. “She not only is a good person, but a good lawyer.”
Pate said one of the concerns in domestic law practice is that there are more crimes of violence against lawyers and court personnel in domestic cases than in any other field of law.
“It is so emotional,” Pate said. “There is nothing more personal than family court.”

Totally uncalled for. How would you like it if I popped off with "hope she was a Democrat so there's 1 less of them to vote"?
Yeah, I didn't think so.

Oh my God, I just realized who she is! I have met her and she is one of the nicest lawyers I know (which tends to be the exception amongst lawyers that practice in the area of family law).

Yes, it's very sad, and I'm praying this young woman will be released unharmed. We are all anxious for an update with good news.

Unless you jumped in posting w/o reading the thread you already know what I think about this. Gyess you couldn't resist baiting old Ratty, huh?
I'll say it again... this shit is uncalled for. Hasn't got a thing to do with what party I may or may not be affiliated with (and in fact I have never said what party I belong to because it is irrelevant). My issue with CSI and now with you is simple: what the hell does politics have to do with the kidnapping of a lawyer off a Birmingham street?
Well, I guess there's an or two in every crowd. Kudos to you two for another great thread derailment...

Well gee, sweetheart, thanks for setting me straight. If justice really is determined by party affiliation I'm damn glad I don't live there. If you actually read what I wrote, I didn't say it wasn't true. My issue was their bringing political sarcasm into this discussion.
