O/T Man Allegedly Hits Mom In Head Arguing Over 'Idol'
Runner-Up McPhee Subject Of Alleged Spat

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. -- A Plattsburgh man is facing felony charges for allegedly hitting his mother in the head after the two disagreed about the fate of an "American Idol" contestant.
According to court records, 24-year-old Cory Favreau was watching the May 24 finale of the television show with his mother, Jan Chagnon.
His mother made comments that contestant Katharine McPhee was going to have a successful career despite losing to another contestant, Taylor Hicks.
Favreau allegedly stood up, made a malicious comment to his mother and struck her in the head with a bottler opener that looks like a bicycle chain.
"When he came over to me, he put his hand on my head -- forgetting he had the bottle opener in his hand. It's not like he whammed it over my head," said Chagnon.
Chagnon said her son was drunk at the time and didn't mean to hurt her.
Favreau was charged with second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Chagnon was treated at a local hospital for a cut to her head and released.
She said the incident has caused her to lose her interest in the television show.
"I bet I won't watch another season of it," said Chagnon.

Good Grief! I was listening to my local radio one morning this week and a girl called in to say she had called in sick to work ever since IDOL last week. She was depressed because Katherine McPhee did not win. She had already called out 5 days but said she was going to try "her hardest to go to work that day" lolol

Why do we have all these intelligent people here in the US? You hardly ever hear of this kind of behavior anywhere else. I guess our gene pools here are super special.

Taylor Hicks at Wal Mart Shareholder's Meeting
"Critics of Wal-Mart, including the union-backed groups Wal-Mart Watch and WakeUpWalMart.com have taken credit for recent improvements in the health plan and say that, as the world's largest private employer, Wal-Mart can set a new standard for other large employers.
Singer Beyonce performed at the end of the meeting. American Idol finalist Taylor Hicks sang a pair of songs.
Shares of Wal-Mart fell 56 cents, or 1.2 percent, to close at $47.83 on the New York Stock Exchange."

I wasn't a fan before, but that wraps it up for me.
