Your favorite Christmas/winter/holiday songs?
(Can this be made a sticky just for this holiday season and unstickied after Christmas?)
What are your favorite Christmas songs/Holiday season songs, and by which artist (since some are originals and some are classics that have been covered by 100 different people)? I find that even people who are not religious tend to have some favorites--and I am not trying to offend those who do not celebrate Christmas, hopefully they'll ignore this thread.
But don't we all at least have some favorite songs that remind of of the winter season?

I think my favorite is still "White Christmas," as done by Bing Crosby (I'm old). I sing that one every Christmas season. It brings tears to lots of people's eyes. I also love "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," by Judy Garland.

I love "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" which is actually a traditional Advent hymn.
O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.
O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times did'st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

I think I like them all, White Christmas stands out, My mom always had christmas music playing, Johnny Mathis, Bing, all the oldies and goodies playing. The songs or the artist always bring good...GREAT memories, sneaking down the stairs around 3:00 am to see all the presents under the tree and my Mom saying "go back to bed" "it's to early Santa probably hasn't come yet", I had 6 brothers and a sister so you can just imagine all the presents under the tree actually all over the floor, there was a pile for each one of us. OH the magic of it all!

Happy & Healthy New Year to all of you...Love, Dani (I know, I know, off topic! and under the circumstances of what is going on in the world, well, just thought we could lighten up a bit....silly, emotional, Dani.....stay safe please!)
Same Old Lang Syne....Dan Fogelberg; Missed but NEVER forgotten....thanks to the legacy of his music that will live on forever!
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to now
And tried to reach beyond the emptiness
But neither one knew how.
We drank a toast to innocence
We drank a toast to time
Reliving in our eloquence
Another auld lang syne...
