Natalee doing bodyshots on the bar long before Joran showed
up at the bar being most notable.

WOW! Probably the closest to truth that we will ever read! Juron LNU does not seem to be the Joran that we DO know the last name of! Can't these MB teens get their shit together, and match the names with the actual person they are referring to?

Good question. I recall it was said that some MB kids were shown
pictures by ALE when they came to Birmingham in January, 2006.
Think they were attempting to have Lee identify the two guys she
spoke of in her 302? Interview of them would certainly be in order
if they'd been identified.

Joran LNU (last name unknown) that Lee refers to meeting at the
casino, going to the bar with and later meeting again at C & C's
later in the evening is Joran van der Sloot. I didn't get the idea
from her 302 that she was unsure about who he was.
She merely did not know his last name at the date of giving her
statement to the FBI on June 3, 2007.

That isn't the way I read it. By her descriptions of the events of that night, it seemed she identified the wrong guy as Juron.

I found that bizarre, particularly given her statement about the
dudes who seemed to be leering not only at her, Lee, but also at
Natalee, on the bus as well as at C & C's.
The only explanation would be that it was not the first occasion
where Natalee vanished from the group or took off late at night
with person or persons unknown. She'd always turned up on the
other days ...

Can't agree with you on that. She met Joran at the casino, where
she learned his first name; Natalee and her along with Joran went
to another bar from there and later after they'd been doing body
shots etc at C&C's, Joran showed up there. I didn't see any
ambiguity in her statement as to Joran's identity at any time that
evening.

Vewwwwwwwwwy Intewesting  So her roommate makes one attempt at trying to locate her and then three hours later just goes to sleep? It seems blatantly obvious to me that this behavior of hooking up with who knows who and spending nights out of the rooms was a common theme on this trip, which is why nothing seemed out of the ordinary. So according to Lee, she went to her room and fell asleep "between 3 - 4:00 a.m.? So if Natalee came back, missed her, and then left again, who would know? Seems everybody was blasted! Anyone looking at Natalee and Lee and whoever else may have been present would see how they were acting - belly shots, dancing on the stage and intoxicated - and may have taken a liking and had the impression they were very care free. Many men get the impression that women who are acting in a seductive manner are fair game for attempts at sexual activity. Throw lots of alchohol into the mix and you have a recipe for unwanted attempts at being picked up for fun and games and could lead to trouble with unknown, freaky strangers.

Yes it is but some of the comments in the 302's didn't match what the kids were saying in tv interviews so the ALE wanted to question them again.
I've never understood the big deal made about the ALE wanting to question them. People suspected of crimes who are caught by other police agencies are often questioned by the police who catch them then again by the police investigating the crime.
John Couey comes to mind. He was questioned by the Augusta police then again by police investigating Jessie Lunsfords murder. It is perfectly understandable that the investigating agency would want to ask questions themselves instead of relying on questions asked by police who aren't as familiar with the case.
