What are your kids getting this year?

Young or old, what are you getting your kids this year? I am only finished with one kid, my youngest.

She gets a Radio Flyer Spring Horse because she's about to outgrow her rocking horse, and when we go to ToysRUs I cannot pull her off of this thing.

Also, a swingset for the yard, and a Little Tykes basketball goal.. (the horse and the swingset are the two biggest things)...the goal is for indoor use until spring.

From her grandparents she gets a really nice art easel and art desk.

And a load of books and DVDs and smaller toys.

She wants the Dora Castle but we have the house and it's SO similar I can't justify having 2 x $100 wrapped up in that-- the house is about $60 and by the time you buy the furniture and characters you easily have a $100. Probably more.

I wanted to get her a jumping castle but out dog will chew it down...(you know one of those air bouncer things with walls, safer than a trampoline for littler ones).....I also wanted to get her a battery operated Corvette but she's too small. Those things go 5mph and have working radios! Shocked

The toys are SO much better than I remember!

Oh yeah, she loves the moon so we got her a home planetarium and a real looking moon that hangs up in the corner and is remote control and goes through the real phases of the moon like outside when you program it ....these are Discovery Channel toys from Target.

My older is hard to shop for and will be getting more clothes and a new bike.

Well my "kid" is 21.....all he really wants is a big gift cert to Bass Pro Shops. He loves hunting and fishing. Very Happy

I usually also try to get him clothes, a bunch of other gift certs (Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Aunt Anne's Pretzels, Blockbuster, Circuit City, Hess gas card, etc.), he's pretty easy to shop for at that age. Oh yeh and some cold, hard cash! $$$$$$$$

Hoping someday to have grandbabies to buy some fun things for, though! Very Happy

My older sons are getting that new playstation from my parents, and my younger son is getting a nintendo system again from my parents. I am getting all 3 proboards (skateboards) because they are really into it and even go into competitions and do pretty well. I figure its a good investment lol. We also got them their own dvd players and the other grandmas getting them TVs for their rooms. I dont know what Im getting my daughter since she just had a baby, probably money and clothes. My youngest is getting the dora kitchen lol, tmx elmo and pablo the one that dances from the backyardigans doll.
I try to do a theme every yr so that everyone gets the kids the same sort of thing that goes with the theme. Last yr it was bedroom stuff. New comforters, mp3 players, stereos, and a kareoke machine along with neon lights for the hallway and all that. Its like their own little world upstairs now lol. This yr is you guess it electronics.

our youngest has asked for an Ipod nano and a digital camera
the older one has asked for an XBox360

For the record...these are not SMALL children, but they are minor children.

How are you all getting these XBoxs and TMX Elmos? Luckily I have no one who wants the XBox, and my youngest could care less about Elmo, she prefers Dora. Well...she prefers Dora shoes and dollhouses/castles but could care less about Dora dolls and Dora Knows My Name types of things. She loves the DVDs and Diego DVDs. But truly, she just doesn't "do" those moving figures. We tried her out with E-L-M-O (to the tune of YMCA) Elmo, an Eeyore that flaps his ears and sings Do Your Ears Hang Low, Crawl with Me Pooh, and Boohbah, and she could just care less. She giggles at the Pablo but doesn't want him, and she will glance at Potty Time Elmo etc, but same thing- doesn't want them or ask for them.

But every year people fight and wait for hours and go on rabid hunts to get the "hot" toys and I am glad I have not had to do that yet. When I was young parents were fistfighting over the Cabbage Patch dolls.

I plan to tell my daughter to just wait it out if I can't find something for her--a few months after Christmas and stock is back up.

I buy her things in the spring in her birthday and all the time the ToysRUs people comment that "If you just could have seen Christmas, we couldn't keep this in stock and people were lining up and calling relentlessly. LOL.....

I am all excited, we found a really cute faux suede and fur lined coat for her that was originally $60, we got it for 20. It's adorable. We are having a harder time finding her shoes- which reminds me--I am asking a question in the shopping section, I need help!

LOL I didnt say they were getting those things, I said they asked for them. Most likely the xbox will be a no-go, because I refuse to fight a bunch of crazy people over a material object.

Where are you that there are no xbox 360's? Those are all over the place here. It's the PS3 that we can't get here. I would love to have one of those for my hubby. My kid is getting drums, an electric piano, a bow and arrow, sports stuff, dvd's, games, and a bunch of other junk that I can't even remember cause it's already wrapped.
