188 exonerated by the Innocence Project

What they do: The Innocence Project at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University, founded by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld in 1992, is a non-profit legal clinic and criminal justice resource center. We work to exonerate the wrongfully convicted through postconviction DNA testing; and develop and implement reforms to prevent wrongful convictions. This Project only handles cases where postconviction DNA testing can yield conclusive proof of innocence. I hope to get involved with this group in the coming year.
It will be my favorite charity.
These stories are heartbreaking.

The Innocence Project is a non-profit law clinic providing pro bono services to our clients. We are a tax exempt organization under Internal Revenue Service Act Section 501(c)(3). Our Federal Tax ID is 32-0077563. In addition to individual gifts, we are supported by several foundation grants.

Your gift will help us:

Pay for DNA testing for indigent clients;
Fund more attorneys and staff to litigate our cases;
Support our reform initiatives to address the causes of wrongful convictions;
Evaluate the overwhelming number of requests that the IP receives.
