omg. I will puke if they don't cancel him as keynote speaker for Missing and Exploited Children!
Maybe NAMBLA will offer him more money.
I see what you are saying ATA it is all about the $$$$... I am hoping that Shawn Hornbeck's family will sue the pants off of him.
Here is what his stepdad had to say about him--
Shawn Hornbeck's parents say they may never know the full story as to why their son Shawn never attempted to contact them or to escape during the more than four years he lived with the man police say abducted him in 2002. But they said comments by Fox News Channel's Bill O'Reilly that the boy may have enjoyed living with Michael Devlin more than his family had infuriated the couple.
"Can you really be that simple-minded?" Shawn's stepfather, Craig Akers, said in an interview with TIME late Thursday evening. "Our son was 11 when he was abducted. A child that age can be mentally manipulated in a very short time. Hearing him say what he said absolutely infuriates me. I can hardly even express how mad it makes me to hear that."
The comments had bothered Shawn, too, he added. "Shawn's actual words to us were that he had been terrified," Akers said. "We didn't ask him about that, but he brought it up after seeing something on the news about how he had had all these opportunities to get away. He said he was simply terrified."
http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1580563,00.html
I don't see how they could have him as key note speaker. I think families of the missing will cause a ruckus. I would like to keep an ear out for further developments w/ this chrysalis, so please, if you hear anything, let us know. This is just sickening.
BILL O'REILLY FOR PEDOS!!!
I can see that T-Shirt and bumpersticker as I write.

You're gonna love this, Fu. New book out by Gerry Spence. Look at the caricatures on the cover.
| Quote: | From the Publisher
Ann Coulter. Laura Ingraham. Nancy Grace. Bill O'Reilly. Sean Hannity. Pat Robertson.
Their faces and voices are ubiquitous: the shrill shrieks and strident bellowings that drown out all debate and set every listener on edge, using God's and Jesus's names to justify oppression and ignorance, and spread falsehoods as if they were facts. They occupy the bully pulpit of the new American hate culture: the television and radio programs watched and heard by millions of people that shape the opinions and set the agendas of churches, school boards, political action groups, and ultimately those we have elected to represent all of us.
Gerry Spence takes dead aim at the media demagogues who wield their power with such virulent effect. Using the full force of his own rhetorical skill--developed through decades as a legendary defense attorney--Spence exposes the people behind the words, and carves their arguments with the rough edge of his tongue. Anyone who has had it up to here will cheer to see these bullies met and conquered on their own turf. |

Comments like Bill O'Reilly made about Shawn enjoying the
situation with Michael Devlin makes me wonder if Bill had
sexual experiences with an adult male when he was a boy
and ENJOYED THEM !!
What else could prompt an adult man to suggest that a boy
of 11 would enjoy being kidnapped, held and sexually abused?
Oh, pardon me ... allegedly sexually abused

I love Gerry Spence. I have actually met the man. He was wearing a similar jacket too.
He is very easy to approach, and was very friendly. I didn't want to bother him, so I just asked him if I could shake his hand. He said of course! Than gave me a hug. I have read a few of his books, and listened to one on tape, so I have a huge amount of respect for the man.
Here are some of his works in case people are interested-
"How to Argue and Win Every Time"- it is one of my favorites. It has a lot to do with passion, and your core values- if you TRULY believe in your cause, you can become "unbeatable". It really is an inspiring piece of work.
"Give Me Liberty" is also great- it deals with how we have become Coorperate America's modern day slaves, and how we become fixated on "stuff" and get caught up in life styles that we sometimes cannot afford b/c society tends to focus on material wealth.
I just love him- and I can't wait to get this book!
Go Gerry!!!!

Thanks for the book tip SS. Sounds like a must read.
On Coulter read the interesting article: http://www.guardian.co.uk/weekend/story/0,3605,956452,00.html
Maybe RU should start a new forum: People you love to hate and why?

As for HannieC's wish to kick O'Reilly's balls, I think it is an excelent idea. It could actually be a moneymaking venture as I am sure we could sell tickets for the event and probably get more if a personal kick was part of the ticket price.

Fu, I saw a real interesting show a couple of months back about his home, in Wyoming, I think? It may have been on HGTV or something, it was about log homes......OMG they were so gorgeous! Anyway his home is just TO DIE FOR. They interviewed him and his wife, really nice lady...she is an architect I believe, and designed the home. It was really something to see. What a beautiful life they have out there.

That is a great idea Yif! I would become "The Hannie", like Donald, if I would make a venture out of it, for sure! I would let him kick so hard that his balls will appear somewhere at his cheeks....kinda like Ping Pong....

The only answer i can come up with Heli is that he is a pedophile himself. Perhaps not practicing, but has the fantasies and the leanings. I have never heard a non pedophile say these things, but often heard it from pedophiles. This is just my wondering and the only answer i have come up with so far. May be wrong.
They are the only people who would suggest that not only did Shawn like it but preferred living with Devlin and his parents were his "old parents", he had it much better with the predator - and therefore his "new parent".
I tried to think of another answer, yours crossed my mind, but given that we are talking about 4 years of captivity and seems at least 2 without freedoms at all even oreilly must be able to separate them. If i could stomach going on to nambla i am sure i could find statements just like BOR's
BOR has already shown he is a predator with his behavior to a subordinate. Seems to me we are now seeing he is more of a sicko than we realized.
Just my honest opinion.
ETA. Here is a quote from a girl who was sexually molested:
| Quote: | Protecting Preschoolers and Grade-schoolers"See. You're a dirty little girl. You like it." That's what Anne Lee's great-uncle told her when he began fondling her during summers at the family's vacation house. She was 4 years old.
"The tragedy is, I believe him and felt too ashamed to tell my parents,” says Lee, who’s now the mom of a 10-year-old daughter.

Does this sound like BOR's comments? Taken from a study of pedophile chats
| Quote: | In making these arguments, pedophiles often demonize parents and other adults as cruel, unloving people who exert authoritarian control over children and stand in the way of minors’ sexual freedom. “Anti-pedophiles are NOT about protecting children,” a man who called himself Christopher wrote. “They are usually the ones who are beating (they call it spanking) or emotionally neglecting their children.”

“America” is a parody of a U.S. high school civics textbook, which pokes fun at the U.S. political system.
Excerpt:
“Chapter 3 – The President – King of Denocracy
Page 44 – National Security
The President is Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces, a power vested in him whether he is a veteran of the military ( Washington, Grant, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Bush Sr. ) or a veteran of running away from the military ( Clinton, Bush Jr. )…
The constitution keeps him from abusing it by making him unable to declare war without the express written consent of Congress….
It is a foolproof check on the president’s power, as the only way to circumvent it would be citing ‘proof’ of an ‘imminent threat’ to convince Congress to grant him broader power through an ambiguously worded resolution ( a laughable and unlikely scenario ).
Or if he called the war a police action ( Vietnam, Haiti, Kososvo, Grenada, Panama, and about 20 others ).
Or if he did’nt tell anybody ( Nicaragua, Chile, Cana-….[ oops ] we’ve said too much ).”

Who's Looking Out For Kids? Bill O'Reilly, That's Who
http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2007/01/whos-looking-out-for-kids-bill-oreilly-thats-who.php
After his image-scrubbing joint-appearances with Stephen Colbert last night, Bill O'Reilly went right back to doing what he does best: contradicting himself. This time, the Fox Newsman can't decide if child molesters are sickos who prey upon the "weakest citizens" and violate them "in unspeakable ways," or if kids actually kinda, sorta like the bad touch.
In his syndicated column today, the Fox News pundit attacked Edward Cashman, the lax (who knows, maybe even activist?) judge in Vermont who failed to properly sentence a felon—the man served just 30 days for attacking his wife with a screwdriver—who then went on to abuse a child. According to O'Reilly, "Allowing a brutal child molester to walk free while getting 'treatment' is certainly not punishment enough for traumatizing a 4-year-old perhaps for life."
O'Reilly also used Judge Cashman of Bennington County, Vermont—an area so liberal morally bankrupt, O'Reilly once imagined Howard Dean going there to run a bed and breakfast (a bed and breakfast!)— as a straw man on his show yesterday, bemoaning the fact that:
Vermont is a restorative justice state. It believes the most heinous criminals should be rehabilitated. Its legislature voted down Jessica's Law shortly after that horrific 60-day sentence from Judge Cashman.
But wait. Earlier this week O'Reilly said that Shawn Hornbeck, the 15-year-old boy who was kidnapped in Missouri might have enjoyed his four-year captivity. Hornbeck's parents told Oprah Winfrey they suspect their son was sexually abused by his alleged kidnapper, Michael Devlin. O'Reilly thinks the kid might have liked it.
In a rant that essentially compares Hornbeck to Patty Hearst, O'Reilly said: "The situation here for this kid looks to me to be a lot more fun than what he had under his old parents... There was an element here that this kid liked about his circumstance."
Did we mention Devlin allegedly had kiddie porn on his computer? Maybe O'Reilly thinks Hornbeck liked that, too.
