OT-Selma Alabama's Bloody Sunday - 42nd Anniversary

On March 7th, 1965 Alabama Troopers attacked a group of peaceful marchers traveling from Selma Alabama to the State Capitol. The attack was unprovoked and unwarranted- billy clubs, guns and tear gas...

The sacrifices that were made were horrific, but this brave march led to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and gave these brave men and women the right to Vote.

Unfortunately not all people celebrate Civil Rights and the Civil Rights Movement- not all realize that The Voting Rights Act of 1965 is one of the shining moments in American History.

Not all realize that Alabama birthed some of our most valued Americans, but also spawned hatred and malice- If you do not know love, you will not recognize hate.

I am grateful for what Alabama has given us- how Alabamans opened our eyes- how they allowed us to feel and know compassion and love.

We're gonna stand here 'till it falls,
Till it falls,
Till it falls,
We're gonna stand here 'till it falls
In Selma, Alabama!
