tunnel vision

... Beier: Do you believe in his innocence?
Vukojevic: Yes, I think the police had tunnel-vision from the start and was wrong in focusing on one suspect, lately more suspects has been looked at, which is a good thing. ...

was that tunnel vision served up on a posse's silver platter?

So what is your point, those are my same words too! I have said that over and over again. Zvezdana strongly believes in Joran, and thank goodness, since she worked with him on the book!!

Oh, for what it`s worth, I certainly believe they use tunnelvision also, and I didn`t talk to Joe T.

Every sane person can see this case is a prime example of tunnelvision, I don`t need anyone to tell me that......

I must be insane because I think J2K were a diversionary tactic.

HMI knew that Nats ran off and that J2K were NOT responsible from the get go. If HMI had told the truth and not witheld evidence, ALE would not have suspected J2K of any wrongdoing.

Oh Pat! I LOVE that kind of humor. It gets me every time. I love when people are so literal in absurd situations.

OT story: My sister, her friend Ken and I were driving one day. My sister starts singing the song "I wanna rock" and Ken pulls the car over, opens the door, picks up a rock and set it on her leg. I can't even tell you how hard I laughed. Laughing

I think ALE has doubts about this whole charade. That's why the prosecutor wanted the FBI to get Beth's cell phone records. Dompig should have stuck with his "scam" theory.

http://www.diarioaruba.com/diaranzon/noticia/news1.html
http://www.awemainta.com/pressdisplay/viewer.aspx
(translation by MF from RWV)

* Gerold Dompig with a statement on national television tonight said that the investigation is still ongoing and made a lot of remarks regarding some suspicion they are having.
* He restated that the ALE is definitely interested in talking to the mother and does not understand she has not listened to the many request the ALE made to her to come back.
* He finds it odd that the mother is only available through her lawyers and talk-shows. He also commented that it is also odd that they setup an emergency fund in the states, that has grown now up to millions of dollars and yet the father is in Aruba, has no access to that money and has to ask for special hotel rates, comps and discounts to stay here, which he certainly gets.
* He also said that the mother is acting strange, since what the ALE wants to ask her may lay some important keys to what may have happened to Natalee, some questions might be tough, but for a lady that fighting and bashing an island everyday, he can not understand why she is still not here. If she wants to help, come back to Aruba.
* He also wants to know what has been done with the millions that thousand of people put together in the fund.
* He said that this case has two possible scenarios:
One: Natalee was killed by some one for certain unknown reason.
Two: This case is a scam. In this part he elaborated that are two kinds of scam. The first one is killing someone to get the insurance money and the second one is claiming that someone is dead in order to raise a fund and use this for personal reason.

This is information is availble today in all major newspaper and some additional information that was not transmitted last night on TV.
* Dompig wants the friends and schoolfriend to break their silence. At least would have important information, a piece of the puzzle that might gear the investigation to a closure. These students can always call the police in Aruba.
* The ALE never had the chance to exclude the student from their invstigations since they left before the investigation could begin and the information the FBI got from them was not as detailed and they want it to be today.
* Asked why he is now giving so much information, this is to show the other side of the story since, too much false information is being released. He has o.k. from Aruba to do so but on telephone and not to participate in shows to further put this case in an entertainment arena.
* Also stated that Fred Golba also wants to come back to resume search with his dogs.
* He also wants to interview Ms. Beth regarding his statement on TV's that her declarations were altered.
* He said that since he took over the investigation, because Jan vd Sraaten went on pension, he and the team, went all over the documents and statements, interviews and interrogations once again and found a few holes in the investigation, which he wants to fill in now.
* He was asked about the declaration of one of the suspect in which he said that he assumes that the other suspect killed Natalee he informed that, THAT INFORMATION IS NOT CORRECT. They do not have that kind of statement. Only statement in the media that is accurate is that they left Natalee on the beach.
* He said that the ALE is not excluding any possibilities and scenarios and one of them is that if Natalee was killed, could have been done by others NOT by the three suspects or a combination of the suspects WITH third party. (Scenario One)

I think Dompig also said there is no basis

for a rape charge based on the statements. can you imagine if they put every boy who attempted fingering in the slammer?

Yes the name Kathleen was mentioned but not that Natalee told Joran her name was Kathleen. Maybe she did though - it happens that girls give out fake names and phone numbers.

VAN SUSTEREN: Anything catch your attention about Natalee or her friends, anything you recall?

VAN DER SLOOT: I mean, no, nothing — nothing to catch my attention. They seemed like normal girls. I mean, I talked to them — I talked to them normally. I mean, they — yes, nothing of them was out of the ordinary at all.

VAN SUSTEREN: Interested in any of them at — at the poker table?

VAN DER SLOOT: Interested? No, not really. I was more talking — the girl that was sitting next to me, I was — I thought she was pretty and I was talking to her. And when I went — what the point was for going to Carlos 'n Charlie's was I wanted to actually meet up with her.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you remember her name?

VAN DER SLOOT: I don't — I didn't remember it, but I remember it now because I heard it afterwards. I think her name was Kathleen.

VAN SUSTEREN: So about what time — did you leave the blackjack table first, or did the young women, the girls from Mountain Brook, leave the table first?

VAN DER SLOOT: When she'd won back — Kathleen, who was sitting next to me, when she'd won about $100, me and her friends convinced her to go cash the money. So that's when they went to go cash — they went to go cash their chips.

-----(snipped)

VAN DER SLOOT: They were already there. I walked in, and I — when I walked in, I saw one of them on the left-hand side and she just said — she said, Hi. And I said, Hi, back. And then I walked in with them and was going to go to the bar with them and get a drink. And that's when — right when I walked in, I saw Natalee was standing on the dance floor. She was dancing, and she screamed at me to go dance with her. She was dancing on the stage. There was, like, a podium there.

VAN SUSTEREN: Did she know your name? Did she know you well enough to know your name at that point?

VAN DER SLOOT: No, I don't think she knew my name. She just screamed to me to go dance with her. And at that point, I didn't. I went to go get a drink with Deepak and Satish.

VAN DER SLOOT: Where — the one that you sat next that you thought was attractive at the casino, did you see her there?

VAN DER SLOOT: No. I saw one of her friends there.

VAN SUSTEREN: So she never appeared anyplace that you remember that night.

VAN DER SLOOT: No, maybe that I did see her, but I don't think I spoke to her.

VAN SUSTEREN: What — you went up to the bar and got a drink. What were you drinking?

VAN DER SLOOT: A yard is a drink you can there and, yes, that's what we got.

VAN SUSTEREN: So drink number two is separated by several hours.

VAN DER SLOOT: Yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: OK. What happened next with...

VAN DER SLOOT: So next, we walked down again to the stage. We were just looking at people — the people who were dancing on stage. And then again, she said to me to — she told me to go dance with her, and I said no.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you dance?

VAN DER SLOOT: Sometimes, yes, but not really dancing.

VAN SUSTEREN: OK.

VAN DER SLOOT: I'm not really a dancing person. And then she came down off the stage and grabbed me by my hand and said, Come with me. And she took me to the bar, which is on the other — on the left-hand side. And she jumped on the — she jumped on the bar, so sitting on the bar.

So Joran wanted Kathleen but Joran never saw her again after the casino.
So Joran must be pretty good at knowing which girl he wanted and which
girl he was with. So Joran never saw Kathleen at C&C. So if Joran could remeber what Kathleen looked like than why would he not remeber that
he was with Natalee at C&C and in Deepaks car? After all Joran and Natalee did belly shots, had some drinks together, and walked out side
C&C together. Yep I think Joran knew he was with Natalee that night and no other girl!

Uhmmm, let me gues..... a girl I met a few hours that was totally all partied out, sunburned and red eyes, compared to a glamorous , with make-up all over unrealistic picture.... would I be able to recognize anyone IMMEDIATELY?

Well Joran remebered Kathleen after a short time at the casino. Why would he not remeber Natalee after being with her from at least 12:30am
until 2:50am. Thats more than 2 hours with a girl one on one. You think
he would remeber if it was Natalee or someone else.

If a boy finds a girl attractive he remembers alright. Natalee for him was like one of the many American girls. She went after him not Joran. If I talk to someone which I am not at all interested in for a few hours because I have to I can tell you I won't remember his face nor his name.
