“How Will You decide whom to Support?”

This Quiz from USA Today asks you to select from up to six statements on each of eleven issues such as the Iraq War, Global Warming and Presidential Candidate’s experience.

When finished it computes the three Presidential candidates supposedly closest to your views.

http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/election2008/candidate-match-game.htm

There is a comment section on the quiz, which you can post on.

Politics, Now Wrapped In Holiday Cheer

Watch the Christmas video ads from the presidential candidates here:

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/12/20/politics/main3636407.shtml

Excerpt from the CBS story:

“Huckabee laughed off suggestions that he was sending a secret message to believers, joking that "if you play the spot backwards it says, 'Paul is dead. Paul is dead.'" His rival Ron Paul wasn't smiling, however: He said the ad reminds him "of what Sinclair Lewis once said. He says, 'when fascism comes to this country, it will be wrapped in the flag, carrying a cross.'"

On that issue I believe Ron Paul is correct. Huckabee has an article in this month's Foreign Affairs magazine that's very critical of the Bush Administration's foreign policy. One would think as a Southern Baptist minister he'd know more about mormons than to spout off ignorant nonsense then 'apologize' the next day. It's pathetic that republican candidates for president (with the exception of Ron Paul) are arguing about whose bible is more accurate.

I thought that McCain’s 30 second Christmas campaign message TV ad was the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7WTu7drLfRc

This topic was posted because the first primary elections are less than two weeks away.

Quite a shakeup going on: Polls show Barak will knock off front runner Hillary in Iowa; and Huckabee will knock off Romney and Giuliani there.

Iowa caucus results:

Obama trounced Hillary- the more familiar people get with Hillary, the less they like her.

Huckabee beat Romney – despite being massively outspent.

Republican final numbers
Huckabee 34% 17 delegates
Romney 25% 12
Thompson 13% 3
McCain 13% 3
Paul 10% 2

On the Democratic side, Obama first with 38 %, 16 delegates; John Edwards second with 30%, 14 delegates; and Hillary Clinton third with 29%. The rest got so few votes that Dodd and Biden have dropped out.

Appy, didn't we take this same test awhile back? At that time, it told me that Dennis K represented my views but how I can support a candidate that they won't even allow in the debate? Razz

I went away awhile ago and took that test. Really interesting the first time I was closely aligned to 3 Dems and the the second time by altering 1 or 2 answers I was supporting 3 Republicans - not sure what that means for me...

No. The earlier test I posted was to determine what your political position is – liberal, centrist, conservative, etc. The Latest test was about which candidate you are most likely to support.

Dennis Kucinich has just sued ABC news under FCC provisions for excluding him from a debate being held tonight in New Hampshire.

It has an interesting format: The host Charles Gibson selected three prominent issues to promote a dialogue. The candidates are being encouraged to talk to each other, and not just to the cameras.

The criteria for selecting the presidential candidate participants tonight was that they either placed first through fourth in Iowa, polled 5 percent or higher in one of the last four major New Hampshire surveys, or polled 5 percent or higher in one of the last four major national surveys.

Apparently Kucinich did not meet those criteria, but he is still running. Biden and Dodd announced that they have dropped out of the presidential race.

At this point and IF Obama wins his party's nomination, I will vote for him.

I was sad but not surprised that Joe Biden dropped out of the race because I believe in his foreign policies, and he's been around long enough to know just about every important person around the world. Hopefully, he may be our next Secretary of State and that may better suit him.

Enough with what America has accomplished in the past, it is the future that will test our mettle and our backbone. Let's elect a president who has the vision to see what this century may be all about and who may be around for a good part of it. For me, Obama is that person.

Buzz on the blogs today is protest over Fox refusing to allow Ron Paul in their New Hampshire forum – despite the fact that he has gotten more votes and higher poll numbers than two candidates who are being let in:

http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9840468-7.html?tag=newsmap

The New Hampshire Republican party has withdrawn its co-sponsorship of the event because of this unfairness.

Here’s another quiz to find out which candidate is closest to your views. http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html

This quiz deals with more issues ( 24 ), asks how important each is to you, and is easier to take.

Some of the fun began last night:

Fox's Sean Hannity Flees From Ron Paul Supporters in New Hampshire Laughing

More than 200 Ron Paul supporters also turned out on Elm Street in Manchester, New Hampshire to chant "Fox News Sucks!" Laughing

LOL, hope they ran him (Hannity) out of town. New Hampshire is too good for him. Love it when Fox is shown for what it is, unbalanced.

Hillary’s “tear tactics” win in New Hampshire over Obama, 39% to 36%.

McCain beats Romney despite being massively outspent by a candidate from a neighboring New England state.

Obama gives best speech yet in concession. Hillary gave best speech yet in victory. Competition works.

On to Nevada and So.Carolina.

I have been undecided as to who to support in this election. But I have to say that I was very impressed with the speach Obama just gave in New Hampshire. Very impressed.

Here in the midwest in the Bible belt, there are very wicked emails circulating from well meaning Christians that caution against Obama cause he's supposedly a radical muslim, cause he supposedly would not be sworn in to office on a Bible, cause he supposedly did not put his hand over his heart during the Nat. Anthem....snopes.com says those things are patently false.

DT, I am very impressed as well. In a way, I was feeling sad for Hillary the other day because perhaps I would like to see a capable woman elected President and so I was delighted to hear that she had won. However, when I listened to Barak's concession speech, my thoughts were: this man has class; this man is not petty; this man is a political dynamo; this man is a diplomat, and this man should be leading America come Jan. 21 of next year. Go, Barak, go!!!

P.S. Whoever supports Barak Obama, please, please denounce that radical Muslim nonsense. Let's not deprive our country of a capable leader -- at home and abroad.
