Dannilynn is Wearing an EyePatch ~ ET ~ 1-14

I just saw a fast teaser of Monday's program, with Dannilynne wearing an eyepatch from surgery to correct her eye.
It sounded as though they would be doing the other one as well.

The "Teaser" was asking if her eye problams were something that could make her eventually go blind, and, if it was a result of her mothers methodone use during pregnancy.
In all honesty, I've never heard of this happening ~ However, I have thought that there was something wrong with her eyes when they have shown pictures of her.

On another note regarding the baby ~
Has anyone seen any clips of the show "Maybe Baby" with Adrianne Curry and Christopher Knight of the Brady Bunch?
In one of the clips, it shows Chris holding a baby on the beach, with a bottle, and he and his wife are arguing over her having a baby.
He wants ~ She doesn't.
At any rate = during one of the longer clips of the shows {that airs next week again on VH1}, it shows them leaving for Hawaii on a vacation.
I'm curious if the baby he is holding is in fact Dannilynne, since we have been teased as well about a reality show?
This may have been "it".
They are fast clips of the "baby', and not real clear since there is a bottle in the babies mouth.

Oh ~ ET also showed that Dannilynne is now walking without help ~ That's a good sign.

My son has a bad eye that would have required a patch over it or corrective lenses. He is getting glasses rather then the patch to correct it. I never did any drugs during pregnancy. She may just have something like that and correcting it now with an eye patch might be easier then trying to wait and put glasses on her. As for her walking well thats probably about right isnt it? Actually seems kinda late for a first baby, but all kids are different.

I didnt know about any reality show though.

How would they know she was having problems seeing things? I mean of course unless she was walking into things or maybe has crossed eyes or something? Usually you need to get some tests done like reading the chart and stuff no? It is kinda late for her to just be walking on her own though. I hope she is doing OK though.

Im not really sure how they would know about the eye sight? I have 5 kids and our pediatrician never checked eye sight other then to put their hands in front of their eyes and see if they follow it. Thier eye sight was always checked using the eye chart when they were between 3-4. Maybe she wasnt responding to a hand in front of her eyes or maybe cross eyed? If that was the case they could take her to an eye dr and check for probs in the eye without her having to say anything. Like an astigmatism would be diagnosable with a child this age, just an example of course. I wonder if in the Bahamas they use the vitamin drops when the baby is born? If not I wonder if that might be an effect on her eye sight.

Walking does seem kinda late if she just started walking anyway but no way in telling if they just are now saying shes walking and has been for some time, or if she just started to walk. My first walked at 9 mths old, my daughters baby is now 1 and walked at 9 mths as well, however my 4th and 5th child didnt walk until after their first bdays. I always figured it was because someone was always there to pick them up, why walk? At the same time one of my best friends has a soon to be step son whose 15 months old and not walking because hes been neglected. Mom ignores him, hes always got bruises etc. Theyre working on getting custody now. Im not saying thats the case with Dannielynn but it could be anything really causing a delay in walking.

I've always thought that her eyes didn't look right in many clips that I've seen ~ Crossed, or, not focusing correctly.

I didn't hear the entire teaser, so, I'm unsure if surgery has/was done or not.
I also have seen children that had "Lazy Eye" corrected by wearing an eye patch.
So, this could be one of many things.
Will just have to wait and see the program on Monday, if they give it all to us and not stretch it out for a week of ratings.

They also didn't say "when" she started walking. As other's have commented, all children are differant.
My daughter didn't do ANYTHING for a long time, because she had her older 5yr old brother that worshipped the floor she laid on doing everything for her ~!!!
All she had to do was grunt or point, and, he was there at her service. When we got after him, it broke his heart thinking that we were being mean to her.
He couldn't wait for Grandma to show up so that he could tell "Gram" how terrible we were to "Breezy", and he told everything ~!!! LOL ~!!

She sure saw enough to target Larry King's microphone while sitting on her Daddy's lap. I remember thinking "what a hyperactive kid". Dannielynn was bouncing all over the place. Quite inquisitive she was!

ETC: King, not O'Rielly's microphone. Embarassed

Anna was just a playful thing, wasn't she? Did Howard take the picture? So glad that Larry and Howard could put their difference aside in benefit of Dannielynn. For one exception, I would no longer allow him to be an active participant in any aspect of my daughter's life since he calculated to take said child away from me.

What the hell is this guy holding in his hand?

It looks like a portable phone to me, with an antenna.
Just like one we have.

And, in regards to Dannilynne, I've always thought that she was overly "bouncy".
Either on her own, or, from LB holding her and bouncing her constantly. I can't recall ever seeing her when she doesn't have her arms or legs flying randomly all over the place.
Very hyper-active IMO.

Is Anna Nicole and Larry Birkhead's Baby Headed for Surgery?

Is ANNA NICOLE SMITH's little girl losing her sight? Only ET has the truth behind why LARRY BIRKHEAD and Anna's baby is wearing an eyepatch!

"She has strabismus, which is a turning in of one of her eyes, and it's something that we've been looking out for for a while," Larry tells our own MARK STEINES in an exclusive interview. "I've been taking her to the doctors and ... Anna had taken Dannielynn to the doctor [in the Bahamas] to see about it when she was just a few months old."

Common in about five percent of children, the eye condition is perhaps better known as "cross-eyed" and it is something that cannot be outgrown and must be treated. An eyepatch is used to cover the strong eye in an effort to strengthen the weak one.

"I got her a little pirate doll to show her that people wear patches, and it's okay," says Larry, "and daddy wears a patch if he has to to show her it's okay. I've been really aggressive with the patch as much as I can be. At first she was really open to it and it didn't really bother her. Now, she's gotten a little smart because she can pull it off, so it's a little bit harder for me to patch her."

But if the eyepatch doesn't work, or if using medicated eyedrops to dilate the pupil fails, little Dannielynn may face surgery.

"I'm going to do everything to make sure that it's corrected," says Larry, "but having lost Anna and [her son] DANIEL and my dad -- my dad just came out of a simple surgery and he died -- it's just tough for me to think about surgeries with [Dannielynn]."

And Larry staunchly defends any suggestion in the tabloids and on Web blogs that Dannielynn's condition has anything to do with methadone or any medications Anna may have taken during her pregnancy.

"All of the opinions that I had [from doctors], every one of them said that it's very, very unlikely, because no one knows one-hundred percent what causes [strabismus]," says Larry. "But I point-blank ask every single doctor, 'Could any medications that Anna was on have caused this?' and they said that it's more likely that a genetic reason could have caused it."

She is an adorable child. I could hardly keep a hat on my kids at that age, yet alone an eye patch! Good luck Larry! I know that my SIL's nephew underwent surgery last year for his strabismus. It really isn't all that uncommon with some children. He was a little over a year old when he had his surgery, and he sailed through the recovery process without problem.

Kids do sail through surgery like nothing. I remember my son had his tonsils out when he was around 8 and he had 1-2 bad days where he was in alot of pain, then it was like nothing to him. I on the otherhand have surgery and Im sore for atleast a week lol.
I can understand Larrys concern though. My 3 yr old needs her tonsils out now and my husband doesnt want to get it done because he had a bad exp losing a relative after surgery. It doesnt matter what kind of reasoning or stats I give him. He wants to wait until our dd is older.
