Derailing reminder/hints
Don't bait back and things cant derail. Takes 2 at least.
personal venom gets sent to HE. Its what its there for.
Social responsibility means that you remind each other to take it to HE and don't respond to derail attempts in a thread. That way it becomes really clear who is deliberately trying to cause trouble as opposed to a verbal free for all where everyone is or looks at fault. Makes it far quicker to see a true troll and for us to act upon it
Use the ignore button if you need to. Start threads in HE to respond to what you think is bait in the forums. You don't need to say anything but "so i don't contribute to derailing the discussion i am answsering you in HE"
There is no reason for staff to have to split so many threads, you can start them there yourself and keep the bait/rebaits off the main discussion threads. Its up to you. This is a low mod board. Meaning you the posters are in charge of keeping discussions/debates/arguments on cases and issues from degenerating into name calling or derailing with some help from us rather than staff doing it all for you.

thanks, VC...that's good to know. Isn't there a lot of derailing going on lately, though? And, btw...POGO is my favorite place to play!

Yes, thank you VC....and FWIW i will never understand the nasty, bitchy, arrogant posters.....you either agree with them, or there is hell to pay? so ridiculous, just think uneccessary...no one can show mutual respect? why? (not really asking for an answer....nasty posters are nasty people in R/L....can't hide it, no manners. JMO....clarification: just my naive opinion!

just navigating around....derailing/attack mode.....WHY????? It seems that there is a pattern....one poster will latch on to another, that they dislike, i would assume because at one time or another poster #2 disagreed with them......personal attack is the MO.....or as they say "man's inhumanity to man"......it is sooooooooooooooooo high school!
i wish someone would take a poll of how many posters are actually here as a diversion to R/L adversity in their lives. yes, it is simply life, but i will never, ever understand the necessity or the pleasure one poster gains in being cruel.....no one knows what any of us are going thru at any given time; is courtesy so very hard.....ATTACK THE POST, NOT THE POSTER....no excuse to behave otherwise, or pass judgment on any other poster.....it really pisses me off, and is extremely hurtful, some people love to inflict hurt on other, only because it makes them feel superior or more intelligent. the tongue is mightier than the sword....think before you post something nasty....stooooooooooopid me, as if those that are nasty give a rat's ass about another poster's life situation. OK....pet peeve of mine......wait.....taking off my louboutan and sticking 4" heel in the eyes of evil, self centered, inconciderate, thoughtless, insecure and inferior posters who have no credibility....
use facts, evidence, and stick to the topic being disussed in a credible manner....am i asking for something that is impossible???? not bad enough that posters will attach here, they will go to other blogs, "misquote", and make fun of a poster, or attack them....this is all so uneccessary, and frankly days that it is intolerable, which is why some posters disappear for periods of time...."if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen?"....first person who posts that gets the 4" spiked heel in both of their eyes.....heated debate is a challenge, and i personally enjoy it, but it is not personal, and does not derail a thread.
