May is Lupus Awareness Month

May 10th is World Lupus Day. Please spare a positive thought or prayer for those who suffer from this debilitating illness. Think butterflies or wolves, if you have occasion to support this charity, please do. I am at present suffering from an acute flare. I am due to have surgery next Friday but if my bloods done yesterday aren't good, then it will be cancelled, again. Any positive energy, gratefully appreciated Cool

Fashionista and Pax, thank you for your kind thoughts and encouragement. Not doing too well but I've had enough steroids to clean up with medals at the Olympics Shocked
On a sadder note, while fussing and pampering my dog, Tatty, recently recovering from an operation for cancer, my oldest Affy, Sassy Lou (13)suddenly collapsed and died on a large floor cushion in the living room, from heart failure. Desperately sad and upsetting as it was, trying to revive her, contact the vet, calm the other animal members of the family, I can see now that she died as she lived with flair, elegantly dramatic, graceful and beautiful. Although she had been on tablets for a heart condition she showed little signs of illness and died quite quickly and peacefully, and I didn't have to make that heartbreaking decision. Myself, my twin daughters and my Dad, (89), were wailing like 'mafia widows' according to one of my daughters.
So far my knee replacement is due to go ahead on Friday morning but I've had surgery cancelled even after I have had my pre-med and been suitably gowned for the occasion, so please keep sending that positive energy, thanks you.

Oh, gosh, that trite saying, "when it rains, it pours." Sorry about your doggy too.

Big hug and more good thoughts heading your way. Smile I am hoping that your surgery will proceed and that will be behind you.
