Exactly, Dugo. His mother was an abusive control-freak, so he should be excused for what he did?

He planned the dungeon for years and made sure to have the parts he wanted to be seen approved by the proper officials.
He frequented and scared hookers - hardly the most delicate women in society.
He dragged the elderly wife he claims to love so deeply to clubs where he then had sex with other women as she watched.
He took his "trips" to Thailand.
His mother didn't force him to do these and so many more sick and cruel things.
As PerryPeabody said, he views himself as Master of the Universe. And he's a misogynist. A perpetrator, not a victim.

Yes, the laywers and the shrinks are doing so, which is really the only alternative that they have.
But, he is the one feeding the words from his mouth to their ears that they are making their assesments and assuptions from.
He knew perfectly well what he was doing all those years was morally, physically and ethically just plain wrong ~
He even went as far as to create and basically make the captives memorize a line of defence for him by coaching and demanding that they should tell that they were in a sect for all these yeaers to explain their absence.
He is a cold and cunning peice of the universe.
He is the one that is making the comments that they are going by.
Saying that he could have killed them all at any time is just one more part of the illusion that he is trying to pass off in his attempt at the "crazy card".
He thinks to highly of himself to have killed any of them ~
This was just one more thing that he held over their heads for shear terror tactics and purposes to keep them in line, and, to allow him to contintue to do as he had for 24yrs.
Had he really wanted to kill any of those children, he would have done so at birth and burned them the same as he did the infant twin.
He used those children as collaterol to keep control of the daughter where he wanted it.
This person is pure evil.
He is taking up space and oxygen better served, and deserved of others.
