Trial and Trivialization

Numerologists jot this down: Neil Entwistle reportedly paid for his parking at Logan International Airport at the #666 pay machine. (OK, for those who don’t know, it’s also the sign of the devil.)

A MassPort official called to the stand said Entwistle, accused of killing his wife and child in 2006, was seen on airport surveillance video using a parking garage pay-on-foot station — using the #666 machine.
The jury also watched video of Entwistle in a dark jacket and jeans on foot in a walkway next to Logan’s international terminal. At one point, he bends down to pick something up and then leaves. He seemed to be behaving normally — and, the defense pointed out when zooming in, he was wearing his wedding ring on his left hand.
The Logan tape is from around 10:36 p.m. on Jan. 20, 2006, the night of the murders.

$787 ticket to London

Posted by Joe Dwinell at 2:39 pm

Carol Cox, British Airways customer service supervisor, testified today a reserved Neil Entwistle purchased a $787 “eTicket” on Flight 238 to London on Jan. 21, 2006. He left knowing the murdered bodies of his wife and child were in his home back in Hopkinton, but that didn’t come up.

He was “pleasant, calm, polite,” Cox said. He needed to call a 1-800 to purchase the ticket over the phone because the computer was down at the Logan Airport ticket counter, Cox testified. Then it was off to London, no luggage, no theatrics.

Last transaction

Posted by Joe Dwinell at 12:05 pm

Upon her death, Lillian Rose Entwistle had a bank balance of $450.05.

It was her own savings account opened at Citizens Bank, a bank official is testifying today. Her account was opened on Nov. 11, 2005 with a $60 deposit. The last balance on record, the bank official says, was on Jan. 3, 2006.

Nobody asked if she ever got to spend a penny. The 9-month-old girl was murdered along with her mother on Jan. 20, 2006, in her Hopkinton home. Her dad, Neil Entwistle, is now on trial accused of both murders.

As for her parents, the Citizens Bank official said the last transaction in a joint account held by Neil and Rachel Entwistle was on Jan. 23, 2006, with a withdrawal of $400 — which was allowed only by using the bank’s “overdraft protection.” The bank official is still on the stand.

Thanks Fash,

It's such a sad story.
How can anyone kill that adorable little baby, let alone her daddy.

Mind boggling.

Oh, so he got the last 400 bucks out of the account because of the overdraft protection.
