What's the deal with this case?
What's the evidence against Entwistle?
Is there any reasonable doubt?
TIA.

Thanks. Wonder how the defense will try and explain that away.

I think they will most likely say his prints were there because he had handled the gun before. As for her DNA on the muzzle, IMO, they will try to implicate either her stepbrother of stepfather, since the gun was found at the home of the stepfather, and belonged to the stepfather.

You know, I was SO SO SO into this case when it first happened. I posted a lot about it, elsewhere. But so much time has passed....for some reason I've hardly gotten into the trial as I thought I might.....
I'm fearful that the same thing will happen with the Lauterbach case. That one had me riveted. But it will be so long until Laurean is brought back from Mexico and who knows HOW long it will be until trial.
Right now I'm more into the case of the two little girls' murder in OK...so heartbreaking.

I'm still wanting to know more about the baby food jar containing the
ammo for the gun that killed Lillian and Rachel that had the fingerprints
of Rachel's stepbrother on it.
CourtTV hasn't really talked about that testimony but it caught my
attention when the criminalist testified about it.

IMO, there will be prints from most family members on all guns and ammo, since they used them shortly before the murder.

It IS boring. I had a grand theory in the beginning of the case but I don't remember it now. I did always believe he was guilty but I thought he did intend to commit suicide and then chickened out. At least that is how I recall I thought at the time. I just hate it when there is so much time in between a murder and the trial. Especially with so many other interesting cases in between.
I've read some other boards about this trial but it's just more of the "same ol' same ol'" with the usual cackling hen/feminazi types calling him your usual wife-killer sociopath. No serious discussion.

So I googled for Cedar Junction images and was just wondering how long you all think a Neil Entwistle will last there. Some scary looking folks there and he seems so wimpy in comparison. With SP I didn't care. I laughed at the image of him hitting his head on the car roof, while getting in for the drive to SQ but NE seems more vulnerable. I guess I do believe he was contemplating suicide. If he had massive debt he may have snuffed out Rachel to avoid leaving her legally responsible for them. Doing her a favor. He has that weird honour thing going, or at least his defense team did.
I think this may be a death sentence for NE anyway, and I'm kind of bothered by that. I think maybe Rachel would be bothered by that too but maybe I'm completely wrong. If my husband killed my baby, he'd have to kill me or he'd be dead. I'd call 911 right after and tell them I killed him is the difference. I'm not sure having anonymous inmates kill him slowly every day on my and my childs behalf would be justice. I don't believe looking at all the beautiful pictures of the family, that Rachel was constantly abused her husband, I think he snapped and I do feel sorry for him right now.
All MO and subject to change with the wind.

I thought he was going to be in a jail about 45 minutes from me - turns out he will be in Shirley MA facility which is about 30 minutes from me. At a cookout this weekend there was a cop who said practically every cop in MA has bets on how long he (Neil) will last in jail and most don't think long.

I'll have to Google that facility. Thanks xcptnl! Do you know if he's still under suicide watch? Or do you think he wrote that suicide letter on his lawyers advice so that he'd be given more protections in jail?
I think the cop you spoke to is right.

There has not been anything in the local news lately about him at all. My guess is the letter was done so he would have more protection. In jail people who kill babies/harm children are the lowest of the social ladder - he will need to be watched very carefully.
ETA - this is the facility where the ex-priest Geoghan was killed. There are two facilities - one is medium security and one is maximum security. According to those reports both Geoghan and the inmate that killed him were in protective custody.
