I was just watching A&E. They had a docudrama about flight 93. Before that they had a special on people who missed the flight or cancelled/ took standby, etc. the flight. I am in tears. My heart is sunken for those thousands who died and the many thousands left behind as consequence.
I've seen the docudrama before about flight 93. It still brings me to tears. We are nearly approcaching the 7th annivesary of September 11, 2001.
I can honestly say that I pray that we can keep our country safe. I worry about this anniversary. Especially during a time of political unassurance.
I love my country regardless of politics. I teach my children to do the same.
Each September 11th, I take the kids to our local Fire station. We take cupcakes and a $100.00 and we thank them for their service and saccrifices (sp?).
My kids will know charity and homeland support and loving the country that gives them so much promise and opportunity.
I can say with certainty that I have never given the donation check to the same firefighter in the past 7 years. I prefer a degree of anonymity and if i give the donation to a random firefighter then there is no face to the name.
I beleive in Karma. I know I mentioned the following before...We walk in to town a lot. One day my husband was meeting my daughter and I in town. He was with our son. When he got to the fire station (where we always park the kids' bikes) He saw the firefighters washing my daughter's bike. he told me about it and it melted my heart.
Firefighters and Law Enforcement, no matter how much we criticize...and really who are we to do such??? ...they protect us, save us and honour us. They serve and protect us.
I for one am completely and utterly grateful to all officers who seek to protect, honour and love via a deep compassion for humankind.
..I know I am lame...just had to express.

Thank you for the wonderful post ber. Definitely, profound love outweighs politics. I have a niece whose friend lost both her parents that day. They became like identical twins and now attend the same college.

Great post Ber.
I caught the end of it last night and it wasn't long before I was sobbing. We do forget and then when we're reminded of it, it brings everything back into perspective.
That is such a sweet story about your daughter's bike.
Yes people complain about police, attorneys etc..until they need one themselves..

Yes so true, My cousin saw people jump, that memory hasn't escaped her and haunts her but i know she was thankful for all the fire fighters who got her and many others out of harms way.

I've had this Flash movie bookmarked for years. It's a slide show of the events of 9/11/01. It brings tears to my eyes everytime I watch it. I live very close to the WTC, I personally witnessed everything that day.
I will never forget!

Remember 9/11
One day we may read the headline “ Al Qaeda terrorist leaders Bin Laden and Zawahiri killed in Hell fire missile strike from Predator UAV”

The U.S. is now making both such air strikes and special forces incursions into Pakistan against Al Qaeda and the Taliban. And the new Pakistani President is co-operating more now in going after the jihadis than his predecessor did. General Dave Petreaus, who has brought effective counter-insurgency tactics to our war on terrorism, will soon assume command of that theatre of operations.
