I had heard that the batteries have to be replaced every 6 years(?), and there is a huge debate as to where will these batteries be disposed.

In large cities where many live in apartment buildings where would they charge their cars? Even for those who live in cities but don't live in apartments, they don't always have parking right at their houses..no driveways etc...
I would imagine there's only a certain segment of the population that this could possible work for.

and afford. I think they should continue focusing on cars that use less gas by having high MPG's. It isn't like electricity is cheap, isn't this really a go green issue?

I'm not sure what you mean. Some are as big as a SUV, and they drive just as fast as any other car. Look up Hybrids.

oh, LOL, My bad! I'll ask my son when he comes over how far his girlfriend's goes. They do have the gas reserve. Sorry, I'm trying distract myself from some personal issues. Apparently, I am too distracted!
