'ROCKEFELLER' TO APPEAL KIDNAPPING CONVICTION

BOSTON -- The man who calls himself Clark Rockefeller has filed a notice in court saying he intends to appeal his conviction on kidnapping and assault charges.
Rockefeller, a German national whose real name is Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, was convicted last week in the kidnapping of his 7-year-old daughter, Reigh Boss, during a supervised visit in Boston last July.
The notice of appeal filed in Suffolk Superior Court Tuesday does not list any grounds for challenging his conviction. A more detailed appeal will be filed later.
His defense lawyers claimed he was delusional and legally insane when he snatched his daughter and fled to Baltimore. Prosecutors said he planned the kidnapping for months after his wife divorced him and won full custody of the girl.
