N2K, that's fantastic that Meeko is so loved. You never know what's gonna happen when you're open to that kind of love. I'm sure Meeko is happy being rescued by your family. Enjoy!
Thanks brother. Have you ever posted a picture of Angie?

Yeah, I did once. It was from a magazine where a friend works. Later some claimed it wasn't my dog as it wasn't a 'real' photo. Gotta love the gossip, rofl. I don't post personal pictures now 'cause of that nonsense long ago. Angie is a beautiful blue healer / aussie shephard mix. She'll be ten in November. Got her from a shelter when she was six weeks old. We've been friends ever since.

Sorry to hear about what people posted about your pic - Angie is a blessed pup to have you as her best friend. I think you know about my dog Blackie who my dad found in 1981 when he was working on the construction of our Metrorail - he was walking along what used to be the railroad tracks on US1 and saw my dad and sat down. My dad called him over, gave him water, went to get him food and he then became the joy of our home for the next 15 years - outliving my mom and grandmother. He was a pure breed Giant Schnauzer - I loved that dog - he seemed almost human -what amazing unconditional love.
He looked exactly like this image:

Thanks N2K for the kind words. Blackie must have been such a great dog. Angie is very happy. We have a fun hiking in mountains or going to the local dog park. She has slowed down somewhat -- paces herself better -- but still enjoys life. I hope you have a great weekend my friend.

You're welcome, Pax. Glad you are enjoying it! This thread rambles around into places I never expected to. That's perfectly okay with me and I look forward to checking it for new posts when I log in each day.

I was not complaining - sorry if it sounded that way. I was just reflecting on how the thread took on a life of its own and wanted everybody to know that's okay with me.

I don't have any new pictures of Hunter to post right now, but here are pictures of his father that were taken yesterday. Hunter didn't inherit his Dad's blue eyes, but other than that they have the same face.
Also note the size of this cat! Compare cat to arm. I know the person that arm is attached to - she's an average sized woman (about 5'5" tall of medium build).

New Hunter video. He's showing us that this dog puzzle is not a big challenge for a cat.

What a smart little character Hunter is just loved seeing how he figured out the dog puzzle.

Very cool video. I like how he splits once he realizes that's all the food.

He's gotten pretty good at that puzzle but could use a little more practice still. I got impatient and wanted to get a video up . He actually missed 2 compartments that time before he ran off. Sometimes he gets them all but I never seem to have the camera set up when it happens.
I've been feeding him his regular meals (wet food) out of the plastic version of the same puzzle (the one in the vid is wood). The plastic one is the same exact principle but its parts are different colors and the whole thing is shaped somewhat different. In spite of that, when I got the plastic one he immediately knew what to do. Apparently he was able to apply what he'd learned from the wooden one in spite of the difference in appearance.
There's another dog puzzle by the same person (Nina Ottosson) called the "Dog Tornado" (lol) that I'm going to try on him once he gets bored with the "Dog Brick".

I think Hunter would excel with the dog-tornado, sure would keep him occupied.

have hunter withdrawal and curious to see what he was up to these days, and there he is always up to something
how is sambaka doing lately, is she sharing the condo resort with hunter well these days, or is she just barely tolerating him?

Thanks for the "nudge", Olympic. I've been neglecting this thread lately and really need to make some new video or pix! I'll get to work on that. If you've seen my "Abandoned Cats, Snakes and Tarantulas" thread elsewhere in this Forum then you already know things have been a bit hectic here recently. I still have one of the abandoned cats living in my bathroom. He was an un-neutered adult male when I found him. I just got him neutered a week ago, so he's still filling the house with tomcat smells & sounds, upsetting the whole balance of cat power here.
Sami and Hunter have been doing a bit better but still it's a very fragile peace.

Here's a new one from yesterday. Be sure to click on the picture to see the larger (margin-blowing) version. The expression on the black cat's face is worth seeing!

Tarantula thread is "safe" - no pix of giant spiders.
It's funny... unlike Sami and the black cat, Hunter never makes a single sound to other cats. Instead he silently stares at them and does the body language thing with his eyes, ears and tail. Whatever he's "signing" will invariably infuriate the other cat into making the first attack, thus playing right into Hunter's trap.
Unfortunately for me, Hunter and the black cat are both very "alpha" males, and also the black cat still has raging tomcat hormones. They can't be together for more than a few minutes without fighting, and it isn't play-fighting. So I have to keep them separated except when I can be folowing them around and paying close attention.

Whoa RP that is dangerous getting 2 alpha males together. You are a brave individual. Almost as dangerous as getting 2 women together who are dating the same man.

Yeah, I didn't think it through real well before taking in this cat. I need to find him a proper home. In the meantime things aren't totally impossible since I have the spare bathroom to keep him in. But my forearms are a scabby mess yet again .
