Women's Groups Blast 'Divisive' Pro-Life Super Bowl Ad
Freedom of speech expands after Supreme Court decision.
CBS has decided to allow an advocacy ads to be broadcast during the Super Bowl game.
Prior to this a number of socio/political issue ads had not been accepted:

The acceptance of an issue ad this year is creating a political furor, which the national media is picking up on:

Nothing makes a Super Bowl Party more fun than some nachos and a pro-life ad. ............"Hey honey c'mon in here....that Tebow kid's gonna cry again....bring me a Bud too"

"Tebow gets last laugh with mom's Super Bowl ad"
“Touchdown! The long-awaited, much-hyped ad from Focus on the Family aired at 2:10 p.m. Eastern time during the CBS Super Bowl pre-game four-hour special. And their early hit could have the last laugh on critics.
What could they say to this? Pam Tebow, a happy mom, stands center screen, talking about her "miracle" baby and how many times she "almost lost him." She beams, "He's all grown up now" but to her, he's just "my baby, Timmy and I love him."
"Thanks, Mom" says her baby -- Tim Tebow, star college quarterback, stepping in to the frame……..”
“Now, it's airing and it's a major score in the "Euphemism Bowl" -- no mention of abortion, of choosing to carry a life-threatening pregnancy to term (the Tebow story to be told on line) or anything else politically hairy….”

Free speech prevails again.
Even the lefty groups that protested the Tebow superbowl ad were able to get attention for their ads for their causes that were not aired during the game broadcast.
Free Speech benefits everyone.
Anyone want to discuss the free speech issues with the latest politically correct flap over the word “retarded” here ?

Tebow ad: It glorifies violence against women
Newest criticism of Tebow ad: It glorifies violence against women
Submitted by Michael DiRocco on Mon, 02/08/2010 - 15:51.
If you thought the debate over Tim Tebow’s Super Bowl ad was over now that it aired and turned out to be nowhere near as controversial as some thought it would be, well, you’re mistaken.
Now comes word, via an L.A. Times article, that the National Organization for Women is upset with the ad because it glorifies violence against women.
If you didn’t see the ad, there are two versions. The first is Tebow’s mom Pam talking about her son and the ad ends with him saying he loves her. That version aired several times in the hours before the Super Bowl. In the second, Pam Tebow is talking about how tough the family has had to be with all they’ve been through – and then Tebow flies in and tackles her.
It’s obviously computer generated and done in a playful way. It’s funny, too.
But NOW president Terry O’Neill doesn’t think so. She told the LA Times: “I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it. That’s what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don’t find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself.”
You don’t have to be a close friend of the Tebow family to know they don’t condone violence against women. That obviously wasn’t the intent of the ad.
It just shows that Tebow will continue to be a lightning rod of controversy for a long time, and no matter what he does he’s going to face pretty harsh and public criticism.

I wonder why the group is not lashing out at the ad with the violence against Betty White?
