Casey looks so sloppy as she comes into the courtroom the day of her plea on the check fraud charges. Shocked

(altho can't see how long the pants are, LOL)

In this Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 file photo Casey Antony, center, is shown after she is escorted from the Orange County Sheriffs Office by FBI Agent Nick Savage, left, and Orange County Sheriff Detective Eric Edwards after she was arrested for the murder of her daughter, Caylee. Prosecutors have released more evidence Monday April 6, 2009 related to the death of 2-year old Caylee.

Haven't heard about a deposition but he was interviewed in August 2008:

You know what bothers me the most about Grandma Shirley's visit that day with LE?

She really shows no emotion either for Caylee.
She's busy chatting around about the cat being lost, and worried about her pet, {okay, I would have been the same way, BUT..} and the power being out.
There is no outward grief, signs of being terrified for Caylee's safety or where-abouts.
Who is taking care of her, is she alright, is she hurt and in pain, hungry, nothing.
She makes not one hint of anything, or, of any real concern for Caylee that I remember.

We know that Cindy had already been there, and, obviously, coached her on what to say and how to answer questions, etc.
And, while I'm positive that Shirley doesn't know the entire story, she had to have been told something to pacify her, and to convince her to go along with things.

We've laughed at Grandma Shirley, and "loved her", but, remove the veil, and, what is this woman like, really like?

Cindy is whacked, Casey is triple whacked......where does Grandma Shirley fit in on this apple tree?

Great points, LNL!

Shirley did remark in her interview that day something to the effect that Cindy or Lee had told her to be careful what she said.

She's an old lady, I've give her that and she seems a bit distracted and jumps off the subject often when talking with LE. But the question is....was she an easily distracted old lady or did she use distractions as a way of changing the subject?

What was going on in her backyard that day anyway? I didn't pay much attention to it when I read her interview....but it seems like there was a live wire down in her backyard that was making her house smell like things were burning up in there. Confused

I can't see how Casey could still fit into the same pants that she was wearing before her final arrest. She has gained a lot of weight.

Also, what was with those stupid glasses. If she really needed them to read with, you would think she would have them on in court.

This is not related to Casey's case, but I was surprised to learn this man was sentenced to 18 months after pleading no contest to manslaughter charges in the death of a one-year-old child. Is that typical? Could Casey have gotten off so easy if she had pled no contest?

Sanford man sentenced to 18 months in tot's death
SANFORD – A 25-year-old man on Monday pleaded no contest to manslaughter in the beating death of a one-year-old child.

Brian del Pino agreed to a plea deal that will send him to prison for 18 months. He had been charged with second-degree murder.

Del Pino was accused of fatally beating Cameron Andrews, the son of Del Pino's live-in girlfriend in 2006.

The child's 20-year-old mother had gone to the store, leaving Del Pino with the 22-month-old boy. She told authorities they were playing when she left.

A short time later, Del Pino called 911.

He told authorities the child had tripped over his own feet and fallen backwards, hitting his head on the floor.

The child suffered a skull fracture and severe brain injury. He was pronounced dead the next day. Medical experts told Sanford police that the child's injuries could not have happened from a simple fall.

After the hearing, defense attorney Adam Reiss said Del Pino loved the boy.

Del Pino's charges were already less than Casey's, but that doesn't mean she might could have been offered a plea to lesser charges than premeditated murder.

The state didn't offer Casey a plea to lesser charges on the theft and fraud, and wanted 6 years in prison as her punishment.

18 months in prison hardly seems equal punishment to beating a 22-month-old toddler to death. Mad

Yes, plea or no plea, it's horrible to beat a child to death and he should receive harsher punishment, imo.

This 23-year old guy where I live was just sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing 5 people after he ran into them while racing his brand new car mommy and daddy bought for him. He had it a week. He had a string of traffic violations for speeding on his record before it happened.

That sentence adds up to 3 years per person. He will be out in 5 years with good behavior. That adds up to 1.6 years per person.

I pray no one in my family ever comes into contact with him when he gets out. Twisted Evil

similar outfits but different colors
(but in the same see-I'm-not-a-ho theme)
and yah she went up a few sizes

good luck w/ those glasses changing her image!
not! (she hasn't worn them again IIRC)

I'm sure they read the blogs = that ponytail last time
so she couldn't do all that preening w/ her hair
(which was probably self-soothing behavior)

What did that guy, Long is his last name, get sentenced to for being found guilty of manslaughter for leaving his daughter in a hot car? I just caught a bit of it on Insession this morning, but I don't know how old the case is. It was in Florida. Seems the babymamma told the cops Long knew the baby was in the car, but Long said he didn't know the baby was in the car and that's how she ended up dying. WELL....when I was watching the sentencing phase this morning (and didn't finish) the babymamma got up on the stand and was saying she lied when she said Long knew the baby was in the car...and she lied because her mom told her she would go to jail too if she told the truth.

From Shirley P's interview in August 2008

After the cops asked her if Cindy had told her things to not say or anything, Shirley says:

"No. She expected me to use common sense, and I'm probably not using it. I'm probably giving more than I should. But I don't, I'm not doing anything to incriminate Cindy or anything like that. And as far as Casey goes if we find Caylee she can be brought up, uh, on a few charges if she has to be. "

LOL everyone got confused about what "accident" each meant, and it drew some chuckles.

Cop: Do you actually think Casey would have done something to Caylee to spite Cindy?

Shirley: No. but I think that's the way she, she kept her away like that. But how would the accident happen the very next day when she had her away all month, why would it happen if she was home on the 15th, home on the 16th until she left that day when they are trying to say the 16, 17, 18 something would have happened to her?

The cops get all excited about the accident slippage...

Shirley goes on to say she only heard about it on the news. I never heard about an accident on the news! What did I miss?

There was that early August report from WESH TV about a theory of drowning. I think that's what Shirley took as a report of possible accident.

Wasn't the defense supposed to file today their proposed schedule for depositions, interviews, and whatever for the murder trial?

I don't know the dates, but I believe the SA had 10 days, and the defense 15 days? Dated from the last hearing, IIRC.

I wonder if we will see any more documents in the near future, it would suck if the trial really will be in 2011 without any significant news..

Sounds right to me. Do you suppose the defense will meet that deadline?
