Joe M., Beth and the $5,000,000
JOE MAMMANA- "These three little pieces of trash over there, OK, that gang-raped her daughter, they need to experience a gang rape."
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12496646/
Why the heck would a convicted felon, wife beater and currently imprisoned Joe Mammana appear on television and tell the world his best bud Beth Holloway/Twitty/Holloway needed $5,000,000 pronto. If my daughter had been "DRUGGED!! KIDNAPPED!! GANGRAPED!! and MURDERED!!, the last thing on my mind would be having a violent criminal beg for 'donations' on my behalf, on national teevee no less. Why did Beth "need" five million dollars? Facelifts and a Lexus don't cost nearly that much.
It's no secret that Beth has continued to profit financially since Natalee's 'disappearance'. Gala fundraisers, trust funds, a paid barroom appearance, autographed 'Hootie' posters, prayer bracelets, "speaking engagements", a book, a movie, 501 (c) corporations that don't appear to file IRS Form 990's - and this is the short list. Natalee seems to have become Beth's cash cow. But why the plea for $5,000,000?

Why did Beth "need" five million dollars?
No idea. Guess Joe wanted to impress Beth.
I found a nice portait
…..When the call came in to the studio to arrange for a portrait sitting with Joe Mammana, it seemed as though the urban egg farmer was sitting on top of the world. Owner of Yardley Farms, a successful egg-processing business that apparently was handed down from his Sicilian father. Joe enjoyed the comforts of wealth and an extravagant lifestyle. There was the flashy Joe, the Ferrari, the trophy girlfriends, the beautiful clothes.
There was another side to Joe that lay dormant, a 20 year criminal history, which included convictions for aggravated assault, theft, forgery and dealing steroids. Around the time this picture was taken, Joe seemed to have turned his misfortunes around by finding solace in philanthropic pursuits. Mammana became active in Philadelphia’s Citizen’s Crime Commission, and offered more than one million in reward money for leads to solving serious crimes.
Earlier this year Mr. Mammana’s dark side resurfaced as he was arrested, prosecuted and is presently serving an eight year sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and tax evasion. Mr. Mammana’s inner demons for now have won a perpetual inner battle……

I didn't see anywhere that Beth asked for $5,000,000.00. Where was that exactly.

Joe asked and the question was why would Beth need so much money?
No one said she asked for that amount herself.

It was Beth's best bud and 'angel' Joe Mamanna that was doing the begging that time around. Sorry if my initial post wasn't clear.
More importantly, why would the "grieving mother" need $5,000,000, and why would a convicted felon be doing the begging?

I think he was appearing "live!" from Philadelphia during the televised begging incident.

Okeydokey
Prior to the begging incident, Little Joey spent eight months in prison for assaulting his wife, Lisa. Here's what Lisa had to say in court: "He threatened to kill me and scar my face. He threatened to have my father's house burnt down and have my daughter raped and blinded."
http://www.nationalenquirer.com/crime/63328
Little Joey obviously views rape as some sort of weapon. His current stint in the joint is partially due to his being a convicted felon in posession of a weapon, a pistol he claimed belonged to his mommy.
I'm not sure, but didn't Little Joey's plea for $5,000,000 on Beth's behalf occur right around the time Beth was associating with the woman who was advertising some sort of "wealth system" on teevee? Her name escapes me.

Thanks! Here's some advice from Sepia Baker:
"Affirmations for prosperity-
I deserve money and use it for my good and the good of others
I create extreme wealth and abundance
I have as much money as I can accept
I spend money wisely
My income is constantly increasing
I am rich and wonderful
I talk, walk, look, think, act and feel rich"

I don't recall seeing any such plea - it is your claim - if you aren't sure - then maybe you have it wrong. ..since it doesn't appear to be easily located.

We thought they'ld never end...
Was Joe M ever charged in the beating, with baseball bat, of the gentleman that was associated with "Crimestoppers?" Perhaps in Ohio?
There was some controversy about Joe not making good on rewards he'd pledged and then someone got a real bad beating.
Thanks in advance.

I thought it referred to a pledged amount by him, or maybe I just don't get the gist of what was said and by & about whom.

So what you're clarifying is it wasn't Beth who asked for the money but Joe. That sum seems somewhat arbitrary and excessive. Me thinks you need to get your stories straight. There is no reason to believe Beth even asked for this sum of money unless you can prove otherwise. She obviously was desperate and that sort of mindset can invoke poor decision making but to blatantly request $ 5,000,000.00 when she reportedly wouldn't pay a few K at the beginning seems hard to believe.
Wang, I sure hope you didn't send them money and then became bitter once Beth didn't personify the "Mother of a missing child". AFAIC, when I make donations and contributions to organizations or causes. I know I am taking a risk that those monies may not be spent exactly how I intended them to. If you have concerns as to the legitimacy of a cause you're best off saving your money or donating to a soup kitchen. Bellyaching after the fact is futile.
