Pleasantly surprised. Saw it on CNN at lunch. I think we were the only people in the restaurant who was watching the TV and cheering. I'm not normally so exuberant about verdicts but this one was unusually satifying.

Good, it's about time these crooks start paying for their crimes. I wonder if Bush will pardon him?

You're raining on my parade -- OMG, that could happen and I was hoping they would deny them bail as these guys might be flight risks. They have money and clout and may not want to spend the rest of their lives in jail.

Ken Lay became Ken who?? to Bush fast enough after the Enron story broke. I'm glad the jury didn't buy that pitiful defence. --It was all the media's fault. It would have been fine if there hadn't been bad publicity. (accompanied by wailing and gnashing of teeth).

Interestingly enough, Chicago's Very Own Channel 9 weatherman Tom
Skilling was not on the air tonight.
Interesting because Tom is AlWAYS around...rain, wind, snow, sun, the
man is always on, for 40 years...he's even shown up for work when he
was obviously sick...even when he was wrong the day before.
He's not on tonight.

That is too bad; from what I hear Tom is a likeable guy (unlike his brother who was a dick to people he worked with while working there and beyond.)

People like Tom around here. According to my mother, he was very wrong before the Blizzard of '67, said it would be unseasonably warm the next day. But when people woke up the next day under three feet of snow with more coming...goshdarnit, there was Tom already at the news station, redfaced and apologizing.
