Thank You, Kay.

I hope you get some much needed rest ...and food. I was thinking of you sitting in out there with just the Perrier.

Peace.

I have gotten in twice using my IPS and evenutally went down due to "maintenance". Since those two luck of the draws, I've not been able to get in using my charter and have to us a proxy. Am I the only one that can't get in?

probibly for the time being yes, however you can send a email to your ISP and point out that we have moved to a new host since a week and ask them to force their DNS to update for refugeesunleashed.net

Kay

Edit to add the problem is with their DNS servers not updating in a tiomely manner

Being it is charter, that does not surprise me. I've been around the world with those guys. I did get in briefly twice but that is it. I will email them, thanks. Of course, I don't expect it will do any good.....after all, it is Charter.

Sorry if this has already been asked, but why am I having to sign in every time I visit the board now? This has only been going on the last couple of days. Before that I only had to sign in once.

There has been no change yo th board software that would cause that. I suggest flush your browser's cache and the cookies related to RU.

phpBB uses a cookie to keep you signed in, so if you have installed any software that restricts cookies ( or turned them off in your browser) it could cause theis kind of problem

I don't know if this is where I should post my question, but hope someone has an answer for me.

Tonight I was reading along on the Natalee Holloway board, "Did Natalee Get What She Asked For", or something like that. When Page 5 came up, on top of the page in BIG bold letters, this came up.

Warning: main(http://www.refugeesunleashed.net/ads/image.php?size_id=1) [function.main]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! in /home/mcoll34l/public_html/cache/tpl_Ripple.overall_header.php on line 146

Can anyone explain in simple terms what happened or what the warning means?

It means for whatever reason the communications between the Software teat runs the board and the Web Server was broken. For the end user (You) it is just a "oh ok reload the page I can ignore it" type error. For Me it means I have to notify our hosting site so they can check into what caused the error in the first place.

Thank you for reporting it.

Aruba Lover,

What tells the board software that you are you is a "Cookie" that is stored by your internet browsing software. That you have to sign in can be caused by one of several things.

Te most common causes are:
1) you set your browser to not accept cookies (Either globally or for RU only in your browser)
2) You have installed software that intercepts and flushes cookies either immediately or at the end of each session. Norton Internet security is an example of this type of software
3) You have a corrupt cookie cache and will need to flush all cookies so they can reload new ones

Hope this helps

Thank you so much for the explanation. Whenever I see the word "warning", it signals something is wrong, but I didn't have a clue what it was. You are great Kay, I appreciate your help and explanation. I personally report anything that isn't right to the experts who can take care of it because I certainly don't have a clue what is wrong or how to fix it. It's wonderful we have someone here who knows what the heck they are doing for people like me.
