"Inventory list/all of her things were gone"

Beth shows Greta Natalee's room;

Beth and Greta enter the room; Greta asks: "So she goes of for a week (corrects herself) for 5 days to Aruba, and this is how she leaves it? (about the room)

Beth: "Well, ehm... her bed was made up, but all of her things were gone, so ehm this how her bag still... still there and ehm you know (opening door of a closet) this is a young lady who was planning on coming back and this were some dresses etc."

A little later on Beth shows Greta Natalee's bag, the same one she had taken with her to Aruba (no suitcase).

She then says while showing a yellow piece of paper:"And this was ehm, you know, the officials in Aruba didn't believe Natalee... they kept believing she was a run away, so they made me do an inventory because they wanted to ehm...they continued to do an... ehm they just felt she was possibly run away."

Then Beth shows the "inventory list".
It can be read quite well on the clip on FOX, only the last 2 items I could not read; this is what Beth had written on it:

Natalee Bag

2 pair shoes

2 pair blue jeans

6 pair gym shorts

3 pair sweat pants

11 tee shirts

4 bras

6 swim suits

1 entire make up bag

1 hair dryer

14 pair of panties

9 diff tops

3... (skirts/dress? hard to read)

3 or 4 more things listed that are hard to read

Maybe somone can copy the list?

I was thinking something similar, certainly a month with washing a few panties after a week or so! Laughing

Well, I do. But the point is--there are laundromats. There's no possible way anyone could justify this amount of clothing for a four-day trip. Eleven t-shirts. Fourteen pairs of underpants? Nine different tops?

What did she plan to do? Change clothes every hour on the hour?

The clown car at the circus.

Which happens to be the most apt metaphor for this case.

Thats what it looks like. 3 panty changes per day. No dressy outfits for nights out.

Well not sure of justifying it, but when i go away for a week i end up takingn my whole wardrobe Laughing Just in case i might want to wear this or that.

Underwear drawer just gets dumped in, at LEAST 8 pairs of shoes (im a shoe nut.. or was when i cared how i looked), 5 or more dresses cause i dont know what will look best on a given day or im in the mood for, jeans, sweats, nighties, t shirts and blouses, sexy bras and plain ones of course (especially if the sexy ones are in the laundry.. have to make sure i get them out Laughing ). Things for night time, things for day time and beach wear. Have to be sure i have my leather suit and pants in case i meet the right person or go to the right club and also any i want. Oh and my teddy bear. omg... once i took a teddy and had to leave it with a DOG who decided it was his best friend.

so her list seems skimpy to me Embarassed

And you wouldnt wear them with bathing suits. 6 of them. There is no way she could wear all these clothes in 4 days.
There is something telling about all this but Im not sure what it is. Im confused.

She was on a 5 day trip, that would make 4 days in Aruba; 14 panties in her luggage (and one she was wearing when she went missing) make a total of 15, that is almost 4 pair a day.

Well, in all fairness, I must admit that when I go anywhere I really pack.

I never know what I am going to be wearing.
So that amount of T-Shirts and other tops would not be out of line of me.

I go to my son's each year in Florida, and when I go, you'd think I was moving in and then end up wearing only a couple of outfits.

So, in that regard, I can cut the girl some slack ~
And, being a teenager and wanting to look nice and attract the eyes of other tourists - all dreamy and pie-eyed....
It's hot down there, so a couple of changes of shirts/blouses per day would be reasonable in my mind.

Now, the underwear ~ ~ That's an entirely differant matter!
However, if she were expecting her period, then, that many could be used or needed......

Since we are being technical on this very important fact you need to count the pair that she wore when she arrived in Aruba! That would be 16 pairs of panties! Laughing BTW, didn't Natalee have a bathing suit beneath her clothes on that last "fateful" night?

Or another inventory list. (if not...)

Btw, what could ALE do with this list, what would be the exact use to have this overview of her clothing?

Well, that could have been in the make-up bag, along with toothpaste and the, ahem, toothbrush.

Okay, when I was that age I probably would have way overpacked as well. I think even the 14 pairs of panties is not that unusual because while on a vacation, especially in someplace tropical, it would not be unusual for a woman to wear at least two pair a day.

And as other females on this thread said, you never know what you might want to wear!

BUT

sweat pants? (3 pair)

gym shorts? (6 pair)

tee shirts? (11)

what strikes me odd is no where on that list are there any other shirts, such as halters, or tanks or peasant blouses.

and don't forget, add a +1 to the panties (the famous embroidered ones)

+1 for skirt

+1 for shoes

+1 for tops

and probably +1 for bra

I also have to wonder, was the last bathing suit she wore packed up as well? Because if she packed early in the evening after spending the afternoon by the pool (I think it was said), would it have been dry enough to pack?

Notice there was no mystery meds on the list?

if discarded female clothing were found on the Island, they could eliminate it as being linked to Natalee if no such item was on the list or if Natalee was not wearing such an item the last time she was seen.

Whoa- how many days was this trip again? Or did she have Ginger from Gilligan's Island do her packing for her?
