Jaimie Skeeters Obituary

Jamie Skeeters
1941 - 2007

Jamie Skeeters, a retired commander with the Oxnard Police Department passed away suddenly Jan. 24, 2007, while away on business in Memphis, Tenn.

Jamie was born March 14, 1941, in Muleshoe, Texas, to Gladys Skeeters. He was a resident of Ventura County for more than 40 years. He was very proud to be a U.S. Marine. He served as acting gunny/sergeant from 1961 to 1966. Before joining the Oxnard Police Department, he served as director of Boys Clubs in Oxnard from 1966 through 1967. In 1967 he joined the Oxnard Police Department and rose quickly through the ranks, achieving the rank of commander in 1993. Jamie served in that capacity until May 1996, when he retired with nearly 30 years of service to the Oxnard community. After his retirement he continued on to serve as chief of police for Ventura College.

While employed with the police department, Jamie was named Officer of the Year for bravery and performance in 1972. He was a founding member of Oxnard Police Department SWAT team, Oxnard Peace Officers Association and the Oxnard Mounted Patrol. He was a member of Ventura County Narcotics Task Force and a member of the president's special task force for narcotics enforcement in Mexico. He continued with his education, earning a bachelor's degree with the University of Redlands.

Jamie served the Oxnard community throughout his adult life. He touched thousands of lives and was especially well-known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was truly a character and someone you didn't forget meeting.

Midway through his career, Jamie became a licensed polygraph examiner. In 1981, he founded Security Consultant Services. This is where Jamie's passion for truth and justice flourished. His dedication to educate the community on the importance and necessity of the polygraph was awe-inspiring. His mantra states it all, "In God we trust. All others, we polygraph." He was a founding member on the governor's task force against sex offenders. It was his hope that this unique approach by administering polygraph examinations on sex offenders would help locate victims of sexual abuse and assist them with the necessary support system for rehabilitation. He was a consultant for Oxnard Police Department, Ventura Police Department, Los Angeles Police Department, Santa Barbara Police Department and fire agencies by conducting polygraphs on prospective employees as part of the background check process and special investigations for not only the police and fire agencies but for high-profile individuals, private corporations, military JAG Unit, numerous law firms, television studios including Paramount Studios' Dr. Phil show, Sci-Fi, Fox news, MSNBC and many more too numerous to list.

Jamie was especially proud to be a member of the California Association of Polygraph Examiners. He served as their president from 2003 to 2005, vice president from 2001 to 2002 and was a member of the board of directors from 1999 to 2005. Jamie loved this part of his career.

Jamie had many incredible experiences in his life, including being caught in Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Jamie was seriously injured in that event.

He spent many years living in the Ojai area with his wife, Kay. Together they owned and operated Ojai Valley Farms, a first-class equestrian center, until recently when his polygraph career flourished.

Jamie is survived by his loving wife of over 25 years, Kay; loving daughter, Kim Skeeters; sons, Trace Giove and John Skeeters; and four beautiful grandchildren, Trevor, Morgan, Ryan and Melissa.

We deeply grieve the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and love of our life, but find great comfort in knowing he was loved by so many.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in his memory be made to the American Legion Ojai Post No. 482, 843 E. Ojai Ave., Ojai, CA 93023; and/or Oxnard Police Activity League, c/o Officer Ken Klopman Oxnard Police Department, 251 South C St., Oxnard.

A celebration of Jamie's life will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, with rosary recited immediately following, at Clausen Funeral Home, 316 E. Matilija Ave., Ojai, CA 93023; phone 805-646-1451. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 185 St. Thomas Drive, Ojai, CA 93023; phone 805-646-4337.

Arrangements are being handled by Clausen Funeral Home.

Why litigation? Skeeters was injured in Mexico when Hurricane Wilma
slammed into the Yucatan Peninsula. The story goes he was standing
in front of the glass sliders of his hotel room when the winds broke the
glass that hit him in the face. We all remember seeing him on tv with
no glasses, a swollen and blue nose and eye area.

Hurricane Wilma came ashore on October 21, 2005 long after Katrina
which wasn't anywhere near Mexico.

You're right Heli...It was from the hurricane in Mexico and not Katrina. I didn't even pick up on that when I read the obit. I wonder if it really was Katrina and not Wilma, using the hurricane in Mexico for effect while talking about looking for Natalee in Mexico. It was months after both hurricanes that Jaimie gave the interview, so for all we know he could have really been injured in Katrina.

It formed over the Bahamas on August 23, 2005, and crossed southern Florida as a moderate Category 1 hurricane, causing some deaths and flooding there, before strengthening rapidly in the Gulf of Mexico and becoming one of the strongest hurricanes on record while at sea. The storm weakened before making its second and third landfalls as a Category 3 storm on the morning of August 29 in southeast Louisiana and at the Louisiana/Mississippi state line, respectively.

You would think those close to Skeeters would at least get the hurricane that injured him correct. That's why I wonder if he might have actually got injured in Katrina.

Hell for all we know, he never went to Mexico searching for Natalee. It could have been just another bullshit story from Dr Phil for ratings.

Think about it.."We were in Mexico searching houses of ill repute for Natalee when the hurricane hit and I was injured"..sounds alot better than "we were in New Orleans to help out when Katrina hit and I was injured".

After the Deepak tape incident, I don't trust anything about Dr Phil or Skeeters.

The Lion’s Den
An Aruban informant told Jim and Leslie that he knew where Natalee was taken. He was certain. He said to "get on the main road heading to Oranjestad. When you see the Wendy's by The Wyndham, it is on "that" street. The street Wendy's is on is about one to one and a half kilometers on the right hand side. You can't miss it."

He also stated:
 That everyone on the island knows about that place but no one talks about it. Laughing Fit 1
 Weird stuff happens there. Laughing Fit 1
 Freddy takes his pictures there. Laughing Fit 1
 That is where the guys take their women to have sex. Laughing Fit 1
 That is where the really Bad Guys are. (Scarface possibly secures the place) Laughing Fit 1 Laughing Fit 1
 No one goes near that place
 He (the guide) was not going to take us there. (No Way!) Laughing Fit 1
 Be very careful

then a photo of the Indo Restaurant with this notation under it: Next door to Lion’s Den

Locating the Lion’s Den
Jim and Leslie went to the main road, heading south toward Oranjestad. On the left hand side of the street there is a Wendy's restaurant in a small shopping center. They took a left and measured the distance.
At 1 1/2 kilometers they found a red building attached to a small Surinamese restaurant. The red part of the building looked like it was a bar. There was a sign that said, open but the doors were locked
The sign on the street said VIP
The phone # is 586-3611
The Indo Restaurant is called: Indo Restaurant Tel # 863611
The address is: Noord 15

Surveillance of the Indo
Upon surveillance of the property a man about in his 50's who looked to be Surinamese or Indian from India got out of a car parked in the parking lot. As he passed us he stared. His car was parked in the VIP/Indo small parking lot and the man walked next door to the property to the left, The Lion’s Den/Noord 15.

Next-door was a house in the front and what appears to be a long building in the back. They observed a nicely dressed young black couple enter the driveway on the right side of the building. The driveway was not paved.

At that time a man wearing a cook’s apron (looked Surinamese or Indian, about 50) came out of the Indo Restaurant and walked quickly to the same property next door. We felt we were being observed, therefore, we left

Returning to the Lion’s Den/Indo
About two hours later they returned to the Wendy's where Leslie was dropped off. Jim continued in his jeep to the property in question. Jim parked across the street.

Crossing the street, Jim proceeded to walk down the driveway. Upon entering the driveway a short distance he could hear an alarm go off. As he continued down the driveway, several subsequent alarms went off. Jim suspected infrared devices. Laughing Fit 1

Men came from the back and the front of the building to question him. Jim stated that he was extending his stay in Aruba and was looking for a cheaper hotel/motel and he thought that this location was a motel.

Note: There was one man in a Hawaiian shirt that kept reaching under it around his belt line as if to signal he had a gun. He made it very obvious to Jim. Laughing Fit 1

Observations from the Indo
Jim observed the windows to the front building were one-way mirrors. He could not look in.
 There are several doors down the second building on the side of the driveway, which face the driveway.
 One door was open on the second building.
 The doors were locked from the outside with padlocks on the second building.
 On the front of the second building there is a sign facing the front building saying: "LIONS DEN."

Then photo titled "driveway of Lion's Den"

Then photo "enlargement of Auto"

Leaving the Lion’s Den
Jim crossed the street to get into his jeep. He stayed there parked for some time. He observed two men, one black and one white in an Explorer pulling up to the house and two very young girls got out with them. (Estimated age 13 or 14, both white) The girls walked down the driveway and entered one of the rooms of the second building.

Shortly after, a man (black man) in a white pickup pulled up, and parked on the street. The truck had very expensive camera equipment in it. He entered the first house, stayed a short time, came out and left. Sources say the Lion's Den is where Joran took Natalee. Laughing Fit 1

Then Photo "Driveway of Lion's Den"
Then Photo "Entrance to The Lion's Den"

Relevant Speculation & Tips:
That Natalee, Joran and Kapaloe brothers were not at the beach.
Most people on the island know about this place.
The boys go there and “play” as they call it, but high officials are involved. Laughing Fit 1
There was a tip that said to follow the star, to locate the street for the Lion’s Den. Laughing Fit 1
There is a Surinese restaurant whose sign has 2 large stars like lights, with only 1 being lit at night.

Then photo "Surinese Restaurant"

Boat & Harbor Information
There is a boat dock between the Holiday Inn and the Marriott, beside Mambo’s.
Docked here are two boats, the Caroline and The Pair of Dice.
These boats need further scrutiny and investigation. Laughing Fit 1

Then Photo "Overview Photo of Boat Harbor"
Then Photo "Tattoo in Harbor"
Then Photo "The Pair of Dice"
Then Photo "The Caroline"

Conclusions:
Noord 15 & Noord 17, are the two places of Rave. Also known as the Lions Den, the VIP Club. Laughing Fit 1
17 Noord is between the Van der Sloot house and the high-rise hotels. (One straight path) Mc Donald’s is also on that street between the Lion’s Den and hotels.

It is critical to observe the activity at the Lion’s Den and have it on film.
Have your PI covertly conduct surveillance and tape it.
Do not give the Lions a chance to clean up by announcing you will be searching there. Laughing Fit 1

The name of the place is The Lion’s Den.

It appears the Elders run it. Laughing Fit 1 Laughing Fit 1 Laughing Fit 1 Laughing Fit 1

What happened to the actual story of the property described as the Lion's Den which was a woman who was there taking care of her elderly mother?

Wasn't there a time during one of Beth's "Yoo Hoo!!" / Prayer Card strolls when she was invited in to Anita's home also? The contrast in the class exhibited by the VDS family and the hillbilly trashiness exhibited by the Twitty's never ceases to astound me. Very Happy

If he knew there was a good chance he was going to croak at any time perhaps he may have sold out for his family's sake.

Then again, maybe he was justa scumbag.

A little birdie told me and I am not meaning to suggest anything here but it seems that the natural bridge crack started to appear when Julia arrived on the island.
