Sure, do anything multiple times and the public may think you;re doing something? They could search 100 times but if not in a timely manner, which it wasn't, it doesn't matter.

depends on what they are looking for. some stuff lasts a long time. i really think you sell the arubans/dutch/fbi short.

living in Aruba. Never has been.

Your generalizing a bit much. In reality it was really only the Dutch (Van der Sloot's and Van Der Straten) who were the real issue. The FBI was kept at arm's length and the Arubans were merely taking orders from the Dutch.
As mentioned previously, IMO it was decided by someone that Natalee's death and disappearance wouldn't be good on a variety of levels so they made it go away. They probably thought how could one person be worth Joran's future, Paulus's becoming a judge, and the economic effects on the Aruban economy. Selfish is what it was.

Good to see you coming out of the tomb in the tomb thread!

So now the Dutch are part of the cover up too? Does that include Nico Jorg? LOL. Were you there to see the FBI kept at arm's length. Did Ole Ben take care of that too?

I appreciate your efforts to make this a nationalistic issue, however, I was quite specific. Jan and Paulus are and were Dutch, not native Arubans, but Dutch. The issue is that IMO these two made decisions in THEIR own best interest and not in the long term interest of Aruba. You might say both have moved on to greener pastures and poor Aruba is likely still encountering some issues related to Natalee's disappearance.
As far as the FBI goes, No I was not there but it was well publicized the interference they met with. Then again with the amount of rubbish the media put out in regards to this case it's possible the FBI never even showed up.

Funny.
It was the other way around.
The FBI tried to interfere.

Funny.
I believe they offered their service to help the investigation.
ALE's ego would not allow that.
And here we are..........still.

“The day after Natalee’s disappearance, I contacted Aruban authorities and they agreed to invite the FBI to the island. It was at that time I established ongoing communications with those authorities."

Why is it arrogance to offer help?
It is obvious it was needed.
