That's what some ppl speculated on the island, that because of his job he may have been in the area where Natalee had been. His attorney wanted to debunk that he was not working for the visibility team nor his father's security team the night Natalee disappeared.

When you hear about this shirt that may contain forensic evidence tied to the suspect, it's speculation that comes out of published reports, do you wonder why didn't they find the forensics on it in June when they found the shirt, apparently they thought it was connected to the two black security guards who were falsely involved by J2K's but after they were cleared shouldn't they have looked at that shirt again.

You would think they'd do that, I just can't imagine that the shirt has any connection with Natalee, it seems if it did, that would have come out last summer. It just doesn't make any sense that it wouldn't have


Jane:

The theory seems to be, assume for a moment, big assumption Joran says he left her on the beach, this guy patrols the beach, he's somehow there, he sees her, he picks up where Joran left off

I thought maybe that's where it was headed, but when I heard he wasn't employed in that position, I think that's possibly not the case, maybe this new suspect just has some information about what happened

Does it disturb you that this guy has a lot of connections in town, his relative his sister is with LE his father runs security, he's friends with Party boat guy who gave a false alibi for J2K's, this is all 6 degrees of separation

SO many different connections, it's frightening, I dont know for certain, we haven't ruled out that there are some photos that have Joran and the new suspect in them, I'm not certain but he may be in some. ALso it's kind of frightening that he has a father with security cameras..the Holiday Inn cameras were not working the night Natalee disappeared.

Beth

Eric our producer, what about the connection with this young man, who is he connected to in LE and the party boat?

Eric

I spoke with Steve Croes when this first broke, he said I don't know the guy, never met him in my life. From his attorney that came to us in English and Dutch, it says Geoffrey is not a friend to the 3 primary suspects in the case. Who is he connected to? Well, his sister is a police officer at Noord Station where he was held yesterday, where the hearing was held when they brought the Judge to the Station.

We know from the picture from Diario that Geoffrey was at his sister's swearing in ceremony for the police department.

It's been almost one year, the shirt was found in June now they arrest him, it doesn't make any sense. His dad has a security firm if he's patrolling the beaches, they would have been interviewing him long ago. FUnny at this time they're arresting him

I agree, this just in, he's patrolling the beaches why didn't they know that a week after Natalee disappears

Elly in New York, The former chief DOmpig, he's no longer on the case, the boy has a connection to him or his son?

Not sure, some word that this guy may have been a friend of Dompig's son, not confiremd yet

ANy speculation that he wasn't brought in earlier because the man in charge Dompig was a friend of his father's

Jossy, what's the mood on the island given the arrest of this young man, are they throwing up their arms and wondering what the heck is going on?

Very excited, high hopes that there might be a solution, that's the mood

I think we're really encouraged of course, by the movement in the investigation, I hope this suspect can give us the one break we need to unravel the mystery I feel we're missing a couple of small pieces and it will all come to light

Patience is the key here, it's just when you think all hope is lost that sometimes something gives.

Exactly, I think we're very encouraged by it, at least we are attempting to move forward, he has information about that last night

As it related to Joran, some ppl might look, this could be a new suspect, we don't know if it will eliminate Joran, hey we had our blinders on , his attorney said that...we didn't look at anybody but Joran we were so determined to get Joran. DO you see validity in this Beth?

I see the original 3 as Natalee's perepetrators, we have one fact, two facts these 3 suspects are the last known individuals with Natalee alive and we know of the numerous lies that they had given the authorities on the island of aruba, how can they implicate two minority security guards, there's a reason they did that.

Jane

He remains the main suspect, this new person that was arrested does not eliminate the original 3

This boy hasn't given answers to questions at the potice station that he knows more than.....they're keeping him to see what else they can get out of him.

Eric:

Joran and Deepak are attached at the wrist being escorted into a car and driven for a hearing at the courthouse. We have learned that the police were taping the conversations.. we know that these statements were made by the boys, transcribing from Dutch and an English translation is floating around. We are hearing mixed reviews, some say yes the tone is correct, this is what is being said, Joran was angry at Kalpoes for involving his father

Others say NO, it's not an accurrate translation, it's not the spirit of what was said.

And that will have to be it, we've run completely out of time

i think her "minority" reference comes from her own mindset as well as the "racial makeup" of the place in which she resides.
