Joining us on the phone is Julia Renfro. Is it really a new witness or has it just somehow got that kind of title

The FBI, family and ALE have received literally 1,000's of tips over the months. The latest credible tip came a few months ago, they looked in the area specified but couldn't come up with anything. Since that point different search teams have helped including a Dutch team with no luck.

Greta:

It's sort of a red flag that this is really nothing ...

Julia:

Obivously I can't say that, but I do know the members of the NFI have arrived yesterday and they will be searching throughout the week and weekend in locations that were pointed out by the tipster

Greta:

Why did they wait all this time, it presents forensic problems if any rmains of Natalee Holloway are found

Julia:

They themselves were searching in the area that the last witness pointed to and they were unable to come up with anything, they did the best they could then invited an american team that searched and weren't able to find anything. Recently Dompig went to Holland and requested to have help to continue the search

Greta:

What did the tipster say exactly?

Julia:

The police have not revealed that to us, but they feel it could be worthwhile, it could be something credible and lead to the remains of Natalee

Greta:

Why do they think this tipster is credible?

Julia:

From what I remember, the tipster was very emotional, he says he witnessed something and gave very relevant detailed information about where she might have been buried.

Everyobdy is going to say too little too late. Parodoxically there is a feeling that they were pushed too hard by Natalee's family to make arrests and if they were allowed just to surveille these boys, continue the wire tapping they would have gained much more info than arresting them.

I almost come unglued when you say such a thing, if they'd been allowed to surveille??, what is with a police department that makes an arrest just because a family tells them to, that they're so weak that they bend to the family's wishes...

I wasn't even down there yet when those arrests were made, we got the ball rolling around June 10, this was not a tremendous amount of pressure
that this police department got from the family


This may be the impossible case to solve, I'm not sympathetic in any way to this police department

This is the indefensable, if a family can have that kind of input on a police department something is tragically wrong. This Dompig is speculating about where the body is, if you have a witness why don't you take him by the hand and get him to show you

What's your theory that somebody kept Natalee's body in their trunk or that if you would not have arrested them they would have solved the case right away?

Until we find the body we don't know for sure she's dead, we might be able to find forensics is the body is found

I'm so pissed I just had to fire off an email to Greta, for all the good that will do. I'm so sick of hearing her state that the dunes haven't been searched in all these months since the tip. Can't she hear? Julia just told her AGAIN that the dunes have already been searched many times. She and the panel just totally ignore that fact, and go on and on about not searching the dunes yet. I also gave her a link to Refugees so she could get better informed.

I keep pondering whether one of these newest searches is going to turn up alleged clothes or fragments thereof of the outfit Natalee was evidently wearing as seen in the photographs. Such a discovery unless there is definitive forensic evidence wouldn't mean a thing but would lead to a lot of finger-pointing. With all of these pre-announcements about a dunes search coming, it just seems like by now someone would have located duplicates and could have possibly "salted" the search ares.

So true about giving no information - First question Greta asked her and she didn't answer. She said a lot but actually said nothing:

Poor Dompig. The interview was Feb 14th or 16th or something. It was not so stale a witness at that time. But he's been taking it from all sides Joe T, the panel. Joe T was especially brutal and I don't think any of them were wrong.

Can't get my head around being forced to arrest the three at that time (June 9th or 10th). If you look at any of the boards...practically nothing was posted before June 11th or June 13th. Even the monkeys had nothing until the 13th.

Still suspect there's a problem in Oranjestad with the personalities there involved in the investigation.

Unfortunately, BHT turned it into an Aruban thing, which absolutely did not help and slowed things down even more with the grand parade of lifeless packaged witnesses put together by she, Jossy, Art and Cliff. For those things BHT is to blame.

But Gerry, put on some Procol Harem, fortify yourself with what ever substance it is you use to fortify yourself and either move this thing forward at something resembling a reasonable pace or shut it down and take whatever lumps come your way if Oduber strikes his committee to investigate. It will be a lot less painless to just rip the bandage off than to keep this going on this way.
