Why would Beth go to Aruba at this time? Maybe if they found a body, but remember she's to scared to go to Aruba. I can't see her hopping a plane to Aruba over a new suspect unless she wants to be there to get some more imaginary statements.

Reena:

It's been over 24 hours since they made the arrest. The suspect is an aruban national GVC. Aruban officials are passing on giving details of the suspect, other than he's 19 and his initials are GVC.

Jossy Mansur says the suspects father does video surveillance for a hotel, his sister is a police officer. Arrests have been made previously in this case, but none have solved the case.

A recreation was televised in Aruba and Holland earlier this week, which brought in some 100 tips.

Anything else we know about this 19 yr old, is he friends of Joran?

Reena:

There is one unconfirmed report that he was friends with the guy who was captain of this boat, who was brought in for questioning.

Right, but if there's any connection to Joran we're not aware of that.

Kim

THis guy was arrested but not charged, that's not how US does it...

Reena:

That's right, in aruba that' s not the case. People are arrested but not charges necessarily

There may be some pertinent info he has even though he may not be a suspect.

Reena:

There may be a connection with the re-creation that aired earlier this week..it's a holiday there so nothing much is happening

Julia:

No I don't beleive it's a red herring, the police have been working diligently on this case, this particular individual they have detained not necesasrily arrested has been said there's a strong possibility he was seen with Natalee

That's what they're saying, as you know I've been around since May 30 and there were reports that there was a young man hanging around the group of kids on the trip, he could very well fit the descripton

Kim:

We had a report by Tracy Allen last night that she was assaulted right there by the fisherman's huts.

Julia

We don't know, but we were familiar with that before Natalee disappeared as well as others. The police were working on that case as well as other specific incidents in that area prior to Natalee's disappearance ..Natalee's disappearance has taken over the island, 40% of the budget, millions of gilders and much else has been put into investigation of her case.

Kim:

Then how come we are just hearing about his guy now

Julia

At that particualr time as you know, the main focus has been on Joran and the Kalpoe bros.

Kim

Do you think he will be released or do they hope to keep him

Julia

That has not been said at all, the only information that they've given out are the initials of this boy. No other official information has been released.

Kim

Does he have a hsitory or reputation of being a bad boy or of harassing tourists

Julia

It's a surprise that he's arrested, I haven't spoken to anyone who knows him, Joran does not know him, never associated with him. As far as we can tell he does not have an arrest record.

Kim:

How are you feeling about this news, do you think something will come of it?

Linda

We certainly hope so, last night we were very excited, we look at it with guarded optimism that it may be a break

Do you think he might be the primary suspect or just somebody they can squeeze to get info?

Linda:

we certainly hope so, we want to come into this cautiously, our emotions are fragile

Kim:

I can only imagine. Speaking of family, have you talked to Dave?

Linda

Yes, he said that he has spoken with John Kelly twice, one of the things he emphasize is the prosecutor is energetic about the case

Kim

That's the first time I've heard that coming from aruba that Karin is optimistic, that something can come of this

Linda:

I don't know if her energy is from the latest arrest, maybe there's more information she has that we don't know about.

Kim

DO you think that the arrest had something to do with the Dutch program that aired earlier this week?

Linda;

Either from that or could be that since they have changed the chief investigator, maybe he has a new angle on things that has come forward.

Kim

It's interesting that these initial reports, this man has a sister who is a police officer, his father is security, did they not look at him in the beginning because he was connection to LE

Linda:

I cringed that here's somebody that may be part of LE, when I heard that this he was potentially part of the Visibility Team, I thought oh no another link to a protected person. THen I heard he works for a surveillance company and the sister is a police officer.

Kim

First time you hear about this guy?

Linda

Yes, first time. For Dave also. There have been names floated around early on but not this person. I confirmed through internet sources that the name is Gottfried

Kim:

Let's be optimistic, perhaps some true leads will come from this.

Tracy Allen told us she was assaulted on the same Aruban beach where Joran said he was with Natalee. JOining me is Joe Tacopina

Joe You're ware of Tracy Allen right?

Joe

A few weeks ago we received a lot of police documents, including a lot of reports that detailed not just Tracy but other women having some problems with run-ins at the fishing huts

Kim:

ANything to suspect that the same person was responsible for all those?

Joe:

SOme of the descriptions were a little off, there always seems to be predatory type incidents being investigated.......

Kim:

Tracy claims she was assaulted, are you pursuing her claims?

Joe:

We don't have to pursue anything, there's no evidence against Joran, and I know why. We'd like this to be resolved not just for the Holloways but also to get this suspicion away from Joran. It's been a horrible year for them, we want it to be solved. Once it is they will see he was wrongly targeted, clearly he should have been looked at but they did that. what they didn't do is follow other leads.

Kim:

I know that's a problem you have. It's put upon you in a weird way to investigate. Do you think this incident with Tracy Allen is related in any way with Natalee's disappearance?

Joe:

I think absolutely, I don't know for sure obviously but it could very well be. I know this new Poice Chief, the first thing he did was put the sketch out all over Aruba, why after 11 months is that being posted. If this was posted 11 months ago, we might have had some results.

Kim

We'll all agree on that, why are we now hearing about this new potential suspect, does Joran know this guy?

Joe:

I know who he is, I know that his dad works in surveillance on the island, his dad was the one who put the cameras up at the Holiday Inn

As far as this GVC, Joran never met him doesn't know him at all despite some of the info out there

Kim

Do you have any information as to whether he's being looked at as a witness or a suspect

Joe

My sources on the island, we have a team of investigators running a squad down there, they tell me it's more than just someone they want to question.

Kim:

Don Clark, I like when I hear this, a connection to LE in Aruba, we're just hearing about him now, his sister is an aruban police officer. WHy did it take so long to come to light do you think?

DOn:

It sounds like the same old song again, for Natalee's family I hope this is a homerun I'm concerned about the investigative process we see, if this is another he said she said, and we have opportunities to parade him around and then after 8 days say there's no evidence and cut him loose.

The background we've seen for almost a year doesn't dictate that's the case. I want to see some evidence, as an investigator I wouldn't be bringing him in just to parade him around and then put him out to pasture.

I think this bust is completely cosmetic, I know enough about being a defense attorney, there is no compelling need now, why now .... there's no reason now to bring this guy in..they didn't have this guy on the radar early on..Gottfied's lawyer is going to look at this ... , this bust is totally cosmetic

This is a dog chasing it's tail, if they had something solid they would have been talking about it, Julia would have been talking, they don't have anything else.

What DOn and Brian are saying, the bottom line is it's Aruba, they don't have to have to have evidence, in America you couldn't pull this nonsense arresting and interrogating for 8 days..for as much as you criticize them, for ineffective investigation, just look what they are able to do without evidence, they are interrogating 8 hours a day for up to 8 days.

Kim:

And still not getting anything I might add, do they get a brownie award for that

I know you always say there can be a case without a body. You have nothing in this case, there's no evidence of a murder

Kim

All I know is she didn't show up for her college registration, if you know what I mean. I don't think she's still there, enjoying Aruba.

DOn how should this be approached, how do you interrogate him, a squeeze play I think right?

Don:

The best thing that's going to happen is if these people are going to bring him in, they have enough info to squeeze him I have some concern a year later, if you have it now and you were inept in your investigative abilites before ....put some good investigators in there and get something from this kid ....this will be a travesty when they have to let him go

COuld this possibly be the break through if they approach it right? This guy will say I'm not scared I saw Joran walk in and out, I'll just shut up and do the same.

Brian Wice:

This is the epitomy of a ... it could be a pop out to the catcher...maybe the folks in Aruba decided they needed something to fill up the Easter weekend. It's awfully suspect in timing and it's nature. They can haul in anybody they want off the street, slap 'em around a bit and then just cut them loose.

I hope this isn't the perp walk with nothing to back it up.

Joe is definately awesome and not bad on the eyes either. It really bothers me that he has uncovered so much in the short time he's been on the case, but Jorans Aruban lawyer hasn't appeared to uncover anything other than helping Joran get released from jail. Didn't he have the same reports that Joe T got and if he didn't why not. Joe got them rather quickly.
