I'm sorry probably missed it, but who's Dr. Caplash? The one who gave Beth her 'makeover' ? :?

Corruption in MTB?

I thought all the corruption was in Aruba

"The Birmingham suburb of Mountain Brook frequently is cited as one of the 10 wealthiest communities in America. But two recent events, one well publicized and the other not covered at all, lead us to suspect something nasty is going on in the city's police department.

Mountain Brook is known in these parts as "The Tiny Kingdom." Folks who don't live in the kingdom, and might be a tad bit jealous, are fond of telling "Brookie" jokes. A sample: How many Brookies does it take to change a flat tire? Four--one to call daddy and three to mix drinks.

That one never fails to get a laugh at middle-class social gatherings in the Birmingham area. But there is nothing funny about recent actions of the Mountain Brook PD.

The first involves the death of a jogger who was struck and killed by an off-duty Mountain Brook police officer. The other involves a woman who seems to be the target of a curious harassment campaign by Mountain Brook officers. What is this woman's "crime"? Through no fault of her own, she seems to have gotten cross ways with one of Birmingham's elite law firms--and one of the firm's high-profile clients.

Does the Mountain Brook PD have the time, and the inclination, to intentionally harass a woman on behalf of a powerful law firm? How can this woman, who spends much of her time taking her two teen-aged daughters to school, band practice, ballet lessons, etc., incur the wrath of Birmingham's suburban elites?

We will address those questions in a moment. But first, let's consider the sad story of Sundeep Caplash, 38, who was struck and killed while jogging in Mountain Brook on the morning of January 31. An off-duty Mountain Brook police officer, who has yet to be named, was driving the vehicle that struck Caplash."

The woman won't be tendering a pre-recorded audiotape in lieu of questioning by the Plaintiffs' attorney(s). She'll be compelled to answer their questions which, of course, will be crafted to ellicit information that may be helpful to the DEFAMATION case not a fishing expedition or forum for grandstanding about the aruban investigation per se.

Perhaps she will have watched the shameful display by George and Cindy Anthony in their deposition and seek to emulate or top what they did. Perhaps like Cindy she'll bring her own video camera or better yet, a woman of her standing with the media may try to make a few $$ by selling a license to FOX News to videotape and broadcast her performance.

Perhaps she will immerse herself in a puddle of tears like Anita van der Sloot did with her TeeVee interview no matter how well the attorneees for the Kalpoes craft their questions.

Perhaps she will wave Joran & the Kalpoes mug shot from Aruba and just keep bellowing how all three lied about her "darter". Perhaps she will make a compelling witness for the defendents in California.

Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps!

Keep dreaming those dreams. It's a DEFAMATION suit and the Plaintiffs' attorneys will be questioning Big Hootie. It's not a platform for her to pursue her agenda with regard to the criminal investigation in Aruba.

Think she'll be a hostile witness?? :laffit: I'll give Big Hootie this much, she could never top the ignorance and flagrant classlessness of George and Cindy Anthony at the time of their deposition.

BTW, how many depositions have you attended in any capacity?

If they are looking for Beth's deposition to be the key to what they expect to win defamation damages for then they should have pursued their book and movie hopes with Greta.

BTW - how many times have you been to Aruba? Or Amerika?

he did hightail it off the island did he not?

Postby iquitos » Tue Apr 26, 2011 9:04 am

this is an indication to me that the home office feared someone in the group risked being blamed for natalee's disappearance if they stayed and helped the cops with the search. so odd that nobody who knew of natalee's movements that night stuck around. :?:

That makes a lot of sense. 9. First off the "home office" was about to become the "Away Office". Lastly, why would staying and helping the police make them look complicit? You're last statement would include Joran, yes?

Changing the focus away from Joran has yet to make him look less guilty. Maybe you should find out if the kids on the trip even had a choice as to whether or not they could stay or leave. I'm certain the situation would have been different if she'd been missing a few days versus a few hours.

Why would his mother, Marcia, go on TV back home in Alabama to bring attention to that part of the family?

Why would his father, Jar, go to Aruba and help search for Natalee?

Why would the FBI have been contacted by the family?

IMO - they wouldn't. The anyone-but-Joran group are just ticked off at TT cuz he had the audacity to remember Joran as the guy he played poker with and pointed out their seating in a casino video when they reviewed the casino security footage.

Amazing that Joran has gone on to kill a young woman in Peru and Tom Twitty is going to be "a banker"

health and exercise science major.
