MICHAEL PETERSON -- Released & New Trial ordered

Postby Heli » Fri Dec 16, 2011 12:30 pm

After eight years, Michael Peterson walked out of prison yesterday.

This re-trial ought to be interesting minus the corrupt State expert on blood spatter.

There's just a creep factor about that guy. I was surprised that after eight years in prison he looked almost unchanged from the day he was convicted.

Wow!
That's surprising.
I saw the documentary "the staircase".
No doubt in my mind he's guilty, there's no way she fell down the stairs.
How can there be all that blood all over the staircase, from the top of the stairs to all the way down.
I think he also killed his friend in Germany that same way, he got away with it and did it again.
Do we know when there will be a new trial?
When Casey lies, she tells me the truth.

Like the jurors who spoke about their guilty verdict, I can find no possible explanation for the blood spatter inside his shorts except that he struck her repeatedly with an object as she lay at his feet.

I guess we have to wait and see whether the D.A. will in fact re-try him. I can't imagine why not.

The question seems to be whether the "blood splatter" on his shorts is really evidence at all of violence, or if it's just transfer.

I hope he's not guilty. I hope she died of a bizarre accident. But the owl defense really scatters my brain!

Accuse and conviction of an innocent (or at least not guilty) party haunts my nights in this case and many others, both past and present.

I think the KEY in the blood evidence on Michael Peterson's shorts is that it was spatter on the INSIDE of his shorts. I can't see any way for Peterson to get blood up inside his shorts if he was a passive observer who merely found her after she fell down the stairs.

There's also the matter of the wound on the top of her head.

What puzzles me is the lack of cast off blood on the walls/ceiling from the object being swung.
